  1. Yesterday was a terrible day for me. I am only assuming that I have celiacs and go next week to the gastro. I have been keeping track of my symptoms and reactions to foods, and have noticed something that I was wondering if others could relate too? I can eat bread - and floury products and really not feel "glutened," tired and drugged yes, but not sick...
  2. I was told last year that I probably had endo as well. I did (and still do) feel uncomfortable with the diagnosis. But the monthly is bad from ovalation to the day after I start. Currently that is about 14 days. Each day it gets worse! Munchkinette. I also have a tipped uto, but they never said there was a cause? I am at the point now where really...
  3. I have an appointment next week with a gastro, so I will ask him as well? Or if you find a name by then please post it - sure would like a finger prick more than having blood drawn!
  4. I just located the View New Posts link next to my login name. But now I am wondering how it works? I am use to forums that have a mark all posts read button as well. Not that I don't want to read all posts, but sometimes I cannot. Do they just keep filling up or do the new ones go away (even unread) when I leave the site, ( I dont log off?) Is there...
  5. A few weeks ago I went gluten free for one week. Felt fabulous. Then decided that I wanted to get tested so started eating gluten again. Then next morning when I woke up my back (where my kidneys would be) was in terrible pain. Not stabbing pain, but just very noticable. I have always had this feeling, and while I get very frequent UTI's I have never...
  6. HI Floridanative. I don't know what the name of the test is either, but my brother (who was diagnosed a few years ago) told me about it earlier this week when we spoke ( he didn't remember the name?) He said it had been out for about six months. He also lives in Florida.
  7. It's just amazing to me everytime I come read here, how little our doctor's really know about Celiacs. Shellbean, one of the PCP doctors at the practice I go to wanted me to go have my liver and gallbladder ultrasound (ed) but, I wouldn't do it. I went in (again) with nausea and dizziness symptoms. I had told her that I was at my sisters, (we eat...
  8. Laura Isn't that the truth. I found that out on Feb. 7th. I thought that since I said I wanted to be tested for Gluten Intolerance because my brother was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue that he would order the panel. He did not! Just IGA/IGG. I found out today that my brother's body doesn't even produce IGG? Next week I will be armed!
  9. I spoke with my brother this morning regarding his diagnosis of celiacs. ( He is only my half brother - same mother - ) He said he actually went in because he thought that somehow he had contacted AIDS, he didnt know how, but just knew he felt TERRIBLE and his blood tests showed that his body doesnt produce IGG or IGM, he said this is the second auto...
  10. Thank you all for your words and insight into this issue. In the back of my mind I have always had the celiac comment (from the former pedi) in my mind, but never corralated it to the present. And never even pursed it with the new pedi, except for bringing over the comment when we switched. I trust that I would make immediate changes if I felt that...
  11. LOL.... Trust me! I know all about those who thing I am crazy. I followed a magazine's advice one time and took a written list of my "ailments" to my gyno, thinking my issues may be womanly related. BIG MISTAKE She said I needed to see my PCP because she felt I needed to be put on anti-depressants because I was too focused on my symptoms.... I do...
  12. I found out this past summer that my brother was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue and after researching it have questions about my own health. (posted on appropriate thread) But, as I keep reading and having more questions and receiving more information a light bulb has gone off regarding my four year old. He was diagnosed with having a fistula (on his bottom...
  13. (((HUGS))) to you TiredofDoctors!! Also, Thank you for your words of encouragement. My brother was also diagnosed with a different auto-immune disease. Actually one that his doctor said that "the family" should be tested to see if they have the gene for? I don't know what it is, guess I should follow up with that. I've mentioned to all the...
  14. I thank ya'll so much for taking the time to listen to my vent. I am just so weary from all of this. My husband is mad at me because I made the decision to continue eating gluten until after I see the GI. ( He noticed a big difference these past three weekss.) I told him that no matter what the outcome of this visit was, we would go gluten free....
  15. I posted in another topic that my doctor only tested for two of the five test that make up the celiac panel. After I took the blood test (first week in Feb.) I stopped eating oatmeal immediately, thinking maybe I was really just slowly poisoning myself with my daily bowl. Immediately I could get up in the morning, the brain fog and the pressure in my head...
  16. Thanks Nini... I liked my oatmeal just with a "bit" of sugar sprinkled on top. I will have to try the porridge. Is it something you can buy at a grocery, or does it need to be ordered? My Natural store didn't have it yesterday. Anyway, I've been eating Gorrilla Munch instead, it is good, but sweet. My son, who is four, loves it! and the Peanut Butter...
  17. Thank you for replying. I agree that I do not need a doctor's diagnosis to go gluten free. That night after I posted here I spoke with my husband and we decided that we were going to convert our home to gluten free. ( I asked who I was getting a diagnosis for, me or others, and couldnt honestly answer me...., sorta like I needed confirmation to make others...
  18. Anybody? Pretty Please?
  19. Hi. I have been lurking for a while why I waited for blood test results. They came today, finally, after two weeks. Long story. Dr's a Jerk! He would only test my IGG/IGA... then told me that following a gluten free diet was impossible, and to follow up with the gastroenterologist. My results were: IgG - 3 where less then 10 is normal...
