  1. I do if I get any gluten. Otherwise it calms down
  2. thank you for all the suggestions. I have to say I'm doing better today than I thought I would. No cravings, no wanting to eat bread or anthing else like that. I sometimes don't get home until 8:30 at night and I do a lot of traveling with work, up to 400 and 500 miles a week so many meals are fast food or restaurant meals. Is there somewhere that lists...
  3. Lynne, that's what I call motivation! I'm sorry to hear you have that extreme of a problem. Ronnie, that's my problem too, everyone around me is going out and grabbing Subways or burgers and I'm eating the salad or going home to eat. I don't trust the burger place here to not put the bun on, then remember and take it off. I've found too many crumbs on...
  4. I'm on synthroid, have been for years. I feel a lot better than before. Getting diagnosed with hypothyroid helped not only with weight but with emotions, sleep, appetite, just about everything.
  5. well, heck, I thought I found something to eat today. I'm sitting here on break eating Quaker instant grits. Other than 1/2 an egg for breakfast, it's all I've had since noon yesterday. I thought maybe I'd found a food that I could eat and not worry about. I live in a small town, no health food stores, not much of a store to speak of at all in fact...
  6. I had to go on prednisone for arthritis and I've gained over 50 pounds. I went off the drug about 2-3 weeks ago and have only lost 5 pounds so far. I think with eating gluten-free it will help lose the rest.
  7. thank you Melzo, I don't have a lot of support in my life, so your words do mean a lot to me. I'm a loner by nature so even being on this board is out of character for me. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope all goes well for you. I will take your words to heart. Sawyer
  8. I don't have the, I guess what you call, typical symptoms. I go thru constipation, weight gain, dark circles under my eyes, fatigue and I have recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I know those things are celiac disease related but they don't seem as severe as the other symptoms that many people talk about, except for the arthritis. I know...
  9. I was diagnosed a few years ago but have never stayed on a gluten-free diet. On days I feel good I think it's no big deal and I eat bread or some other gluten item. How do you stay motivated to stay on this?
