  1. Judy, Are you sure that Ambien contains wheat starch? I take it also and just checked the Medication List on Site Index here and it is listed as gluten-free. This really concerns me because I am still having some diarrhea problems and am looking for the reason. Also, you mentioned a medication called Ativan. Is it a prescription or OTC? Thanks for your...
  2. Karen, Thank you so much for your suggestions. When you mentioned that Lomotil isn't gluten-free I discontinued it and when you mentioned it here again, I thought I'd better check the Prilosec OTC that I take-OPPS! It's not on the list either! Thanks again, Granny
  3. LisaB, Thanks for the supper idea!! I can 't wait to try it! What brand hot daogs do you use? I love hot dogs and really miss corndogs. Granny
  4. Burdee, I use Mission Brand white corn tortillas and I do heat them in Microwave for a few seconds. They work great! I don't find soy, gluten, or dairy but will list ingr. so you can determine for yourself. I might be missing something and not realize it. Ingredients:Ground corn treated with lime, water, cellulose gum, propionic acid(to preserve freshness...
  5. eternity, I found this recipe on this thread, listed on 3-20-04, by Connie R-E, titled Easy Bread. I've made it many times and always have good results. I don't know how to post the recipe here, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. granny
  6. HI, I'm so-o-o glad you got that craving! My grandaughter and I are making these tomorrow! Thanks for sharing you recipe. Granny
  7. HI Connie, Sorry to hear about Josh scoring so high on eggs. Can you use something like Egg Beaters or some other egg substitute or do they all contain gluten? I've been doing this since Nov.2004 and it still shocks me sometimes that wheat can be in so many things. I got a real surprise last night when I read that Lamotil has gluten because I've been...
  8. Hey Connie, I can't wait to try your new flour mix! I was making Chocolate Chip Cookies when I found your post and had already mixed them by the recipe on the site (#5 ). I wish I'd seen your post first. Oh well, it gives something else new to try! I'm still using your PB&J Bread recipe and still having great results, even my granddaughters love...

    ARCHIVED Outback

You're not alone! I called the one in Springdale, Ar. and was told that they don't have a gluten-free menu either. It was very disappointing as our daughter always takes us out to dinner for our birthdays and since my diagnosis, that was the place she wanted to go to. We decided to just stay home and she cooked for us. It was nice but didn't give her...
  10. Gillian, I think that you're referring to Gluten content (correct me if I'm wrong) in this topic, but I'd like to share a little of my story and Toot my own horn, so to speak. There is a cigarrette topic under Coping With Celiac started on 3-17 by Mario that I found very interesting. It has a lot of replies and in these, I learned that it could be contributing...
  11. SORRY, I forgot to edit your post so it got printed again in all it's wonderful glory! Sometimes I don't know where my brains goes on vacation, just wish it would take the rest of me with it!! Maybe someone else needed to read it (2 times??), Oh Well! Granny
  12. Hey Tarnalberry, Thank you so much!! The other recipes sound yummy too, so thanks for including them. I won't hold you to promises, either! <grin> Granny
  13. I know this isn't the place, but would you put your recipe for home-made enchilada sauce in the recipe section? We've tried to make it but just never get it quiet right. If you happen to have a recipe for beef stew seasoning or if someone else does, I'd love to have it also. Neither my husband or myself are good at spices and have always depended on mixes...
  14. Connie, Thanks for the PS. I'd seen glutenous rice flour at the Asian Market and wondered what it was. Can you also explain the Sweet Rice. Is this just a brand name or is it something different? Thanks, Granny
  15. Hi Joy, I've had the same problem and have ask twice about this. Hopefully someone will respond to your question and we can Both learn what to do in this case. The Tapioca Starch is a lot cheaper and I'd like to use it but... There was a responce to this on the old board but I can't find it, maybe you can. I've used the "search" over there and still...
  16. I made your cookies today and YUM!! They are the 1st cookies I've had in months and so-o-o good! Thanks for the recipe. Granny
  17. Hi, Thanks for the reply! I don't even know my blood type but keep telling myself that it's something I really need to check on. <grin> You mentioned taking a probiotic supplement, can you explain this? Is it something like Acidophilus? I take 3 of these daily and when I have diarrhea, I take 6 daily. I have been off the antibiodic for several...
  18. Does anyone know of antibiodics that are safe for us? I have a lot of respiratory problems and just got off antibiodics that really did a number on my bowels. I'd had diarrhea for so long and then went gluten-free and LF and was so thrilled to be rid of the diarrhea and then wham! here I go again? Granny
  19. I made this cake yesterday with Pineapple Upside down and it was a little gummy. I remembered you saying rice should be cooked slower and longer. I wonder if this would take some of the gumminess out of it?? The cake was good, just a little different texture. Could you or anyone else, please tell me if there's a difference between Tapioca flour and...
  20. Hi Mariann, Good luck on the biopsi tomorrow. I've followed your journey back on gluten thru your writting and my heart goes out to you and I'm so glad it's almost over. Granny
  21. I noticed the change also and like you, didn't find help. Can someone explain? Thanks in advance, Granny
  22. Thanks for the replies. It's wonderful to have a place to ask questions of people who have more experience with these things. I had gotten the wrong idea about this. My doc. had tried to do the endoscopy but had not put me to sleep and I couldn't swallow the tube so he was only able to do the colonoscopy. I really wish he had put me under because now...
  23. Thanks, I had wondered about the Barq's rootbeer also. Granny
  24. Shirley, Would you mind sharing this recipe? I'd love to have it. Also is tapioca flour and tapioca starch the same thing. I found the starch today but not the flour and employee there said it's the same, but I'd prefer your opinion. Thanks, Granny
  25. kathleen, Thanks so much for the recipes. Granny
