  1. If you can make just the regular coffee, you could add a flavored creamer that is gluten free. For example in my regular cup of coffee every morning I add Nestle Coffee-Mate Creamer. I use the Hazelnut. So yummy!!! I would be lost without it. It's gluten free!
  2. Congratulations!
  3. What I find interesting is that, I am A-negative and my husband is O-negative. I just had a baby in Dec. and she is A+ ...Two negatives made a positive.... I guess anything is possible! I had to get two shots after birth because a lot of my baby's blood entered into my blood.
  4. Hi all, I thought I would share this list of gluten free foods that my nutritionist gave me. I don't know how old this info is, so you will need to call first. phone #'s and websites are listed. I hope this helps! Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream-always check label for up to date info. Avoid obvious add ins such as cookies, dough. ect. ...
  5. I am A- negative. I know most of the world is positive (RH factor). Just curious to see how many others that are celiacs are a negative RH factor.
  6. Thanks,,, that's good to know! Where could I find the Delphi List??
  7. Does anyone know of any gluten free Antiseptic Mouth washes out there?? I stopped using Listerine because I heard somewhere that it contains gluten. Also I read somewhere that Colgate toothpaste is safe to use. Is it true? I wanted to double check with you all.
  8. I just cancelled my endoscopy for monday morning because I'm scared. Is it necessary? What does it show? I do plan to reschedule the procedure..... I think. Does it just show that I have the disease or does it show damage? In any case, I am gluten free and that's all they can do is to tell me to stay gluten free. So I wonder why get it done. They...
  9. Yes, thank you very much for finding out the facts!!
  10. Hi all... My uvula (?) is pretty much back to it's normal size. The predisone and benadryl is helping. I'll have to go and see an allergist to figure out what it was. I noticed in the ingredients for the soy milk,, it said Sea Salt. And I also gargaled with Sea Salt and warm water to help the soreness. I wonder if I am allergic to shellfish or something...
  11. Maybe I should ask my doctor to test me for Lupus and Raynaud and anemia. When they checked my levels for celiac's disease (a few weeks ago) I noticed that they checked my thyroid. They said that came back fine. I wonder if it's something they should keep checking. I'm the same way,, somedays when it is beautiful outside,, I am so cold. It's like...
  12. Hi! That's a good idea. I'll have to try that. My grandmother use to always say, cold hands means that you have a warm heart!
  13. I have had cold hand and feet almost my whole life,, or as long as I can remember. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was related to celiacs disease. Does anyone else have cold hands and feet almost all the time? They sometimes get clammy too.
  14. I have similar experiences with you all... I CAN wear 14k gold. The rings on my hands are 14k. But my husband bought me white gold earings for my birthday because he knows that I can't wear cheap jewerly because I get a rash. Well the white gold made my ears very itchy and then oozy. Just like how cheap jewlery does. Also if I have a watch on,...
  15. So, I am a new celiac as of May 1st and have been gluten free since then. Yesterday my throat was itchy. Within minutes later, my throat was so sore! I could hardly swallow. My eyes started filling up with water. It hurt really bad to swallow. I tried gargaling with warm salt water, chamomile tea, I even got the heating pad out! I took some liquid...
  16. I'll try to give up the dairy.. oh good, I can still eat eggs! It's so hard to figure out what I can and can't have. Here is another question: Is margarine (Country Crock) considered dairy? And should I avoid things that say Whey. (is that milk?)
  17. I have recently been dx with celiac and I hear some things about staying away from dairy. I can eat eggs, and cheese without getting any symptoms,, but if i were to have a glass of milk... forget it! So the question is: Is it safe to eat some dairy while trying to heal? Will that make healing slow down? Or does it not matter, as long as you feel...
  18. Yes,, it was used all the time when I use to toast wheat and other breads... Also, my husband uses it. I think I might go out and buy myself a new toaster. Just for me to use. Hopefully I wont' get "glutened" today. So far so good! I better go out today and buy my toaster,,, I want my toast tomorrow!!! It's such a wonderful discovery for me....
  19. I felt wonderful during my pregnancy. I had morning sickness but that was it. I weighed 110 before I got pregnant and I gained 37 pounds by the end of pregnancy. My baby was healthy and weighed 7lbs. 12 oz. I had no idea I had celiac's disease, I always THOUGHT I was lactose intolerant for all those years. I remember telling people that my symptoms of...
  20. Is so yummy!! I found a loaf at a local grocery store and I couldn't wait to get home and try it. I hovered over my once forgotten toaster and inhaled the smell of yummy bread,, that I knew I could eat! Delicious! I just had to share my experience.... I'm going to go toast some more now.... (I had the white italian.) YUM!
  21. Thanks so much for your help!! It's good to know I can still eat some M&M's!!!!
  22. Does anyone know if M&M's milk chocolate candies are gluten free. I noticed on the ingredients it says Dextrin. also, are the peanut M&M's gluten free. thanks
  23. I'm noticing on the ensure bottle it says lactose free... but at the bottom of the ingredients it says contains milk and soy ingredients. So I bet the milk part gave me my reaction. That is very good news that the dairy issue isn't permanent! I just hope it's not the soy that bothers me.
  24. I just had a similar experience today with Ensure. I bought it and saw that it was gluten free, but had a reaction after I had it. I've been trying to figure out all day why it made me sick when it says gluten free. I can't find where it says oat fiber, but I wonder if that is what did it.
  25. Thanks for the link! I just printed it out. I''m starting a folder of print outs to keep in my car. Today I had an ensure drink(nutritional drink) and it said it is gluten free. But I had a reaction after I had it. I just noticed now that the ingredients include soy lecithin and soy protein isolate. So maybe I'm allergic to soy. I wonder.... ...
