Bacardi & Pepsi (or Coke), Martini made with Smirnoff Red Label, or Smirnoff with Cranberry juice, Pomegranate juice, or 7up, Margarita with Jose Cuervo Tradicional or Cazadores Reposado Tequila (any 100% agave), Kahlua on the rocks (or White Russian - again with Smirnoff), Disaronno Originale Amaretto on the rocks (or with juice). If they serve gluten...

I am wondering about Zoloft ... Has anyone taken this? How does it work for you?? My dr. seems to think that a little pick me up would help my feelings of self doubt. I agree, I just would like to find the right meds. Zoloft is not a pick me up. At least it wasn't for me. I took it for two weeks and found it to take my personality away. It makes you...

ARCHIVED Anyone Recommend A Good Tomato Sauce?
DeeTee33 replied to Clark Bent as Stupor-Man's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Interesting article. I always learn something from this forum! I called Contadina about their Puree and they said their citric acid is man-made and corn is not used in the process. So anyone with a corn allergy can freely use it! (Their Puree not their sauce.) I also agree, Amy's has great sauces and even salsa. I don't know if their salsa has corn... -

ARCHIVED Anyone Recommend A Good Tomato Sauce?
DeeTee33 replied to Clark Bent as Stupor-Man's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I make my own sauce, I use Contadina Puree. Ingredients: Tomato Puree, (Water, Tomato Paste,Citric Acid. That's all it says on the label! Stay away from the sauce though. The Sauce has High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. It takes less than five minutes to prepare. Just add basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, tablespoon of sugar, dash red... -
ARCHIVED I Need Some Advice Badly!
DeeTee33 replied to mommy2ky's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm so sorry you feel so bad! I just want you to know it's not that uncommon for women to become totally drained after given birth and being pregnant again. Hormones are going crazy and you are trying to do everything. You do need to rest at any moment possible. Find someone to help so you can nap comfortably. Have you tried SlowFE Iron with Folic Acid... -
Richard I just finished reading the article and the beautiful poem Grace wrote. I am so touched! You were truly blessed with a beautiful daughter. My son's girlfriend's sister(age 17) committed suicide this past fall and nothing has been the same for any of us. I don't know how you feel on the subject, but I just finished reading Allison DuBois' two books...

Carla, Do you have trouble with wine? I don't know if it is the sulfates but a couple glasses and i don't feel good for a couple days. I never use to drink hard liquor. I use to like an ice cold beer once in a while until I went Gluten-free. I thought wine would be a good alternative since it has a low alcohol content. But wine does not like me. That is...

Alterna Caviar Shampoo, I have never heard of it. Can you buy it at most stores or do you buy it online? FYI Even if you never use to like Tequila you should give it another try. The 100% doesn't taste bad or give you a headache either. Just adds an alternative drink for socializing. Kristi, my understanding is the young crowd loves Cosmos. I have...

Carla, Cuervo Gold has carmel color added as do many other Tequilas. Cuervo Classic is their cheapest made Tequila. I have found if you stick with 100% Tequila without color added (around $35-$50 a bottle, expensive but worth it) you don't get swollen glands, a stomach ache or even get a hangover. Cuervo Margarita Mix is gluten-free and makes it easy to...

Here is the email response I received last year when I asked about a gluten-free menu. Thank you for visiting our website. As for the difference in menus, unfortunately there are some variations due to regions and franchises. In the interest of providing our guests with regional food preferences we have different food items available in different areas...

Like Carla said, Rum is safe. I'm unsure of some of the new flavored rums though. Maybe someone else can help out with that one. Wine also is safe just stay away from most wine coolers. They are usually made with malt. If you drink Tequila ( Margarita etc.) make sure it is says it is 100% de Agave or 100% Blue Agave. Cazadores Reposado is my favorite...

ARCHIVED Need Your Advice
DeeTee33 replied to MattUK's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You are not alone having a doctor ignore your concerns. I was always Anemic as a child. Had a Duodenal Ulcer at age 19 in 1976. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 89 and it wouldn't get better with medicine. I watched everything I ate and started to notice when I ate Pasta or lots of bread etc. it was worse. Food would go right through me. I mean... -
Thanks for the info. I never have taken them at the same time though, I usually take the Slow FE before bed so I it's easier on the digestion process. I had to take it that way when my Colitis was really bad otherwise I would cramp. Just a habit now. I definately know not to take iron supplements any time around drinking juice. I did that once...Talk...

Sounds like Panic Attacks to me. My husband has his own company and used to get them. He was stressed out at work and that was his bodys way of telling him to slow down. Took a while to figure it out. He would jump out of bed, pace, breath irradically, sweat, have pains in his chest, stretch his arms and fingers (maybe his muscles were tight, I was observing...

ARCHIVED Need Diet Info And Ataxia Info Please!
DeeTee33 replied to Jennhaz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Still pretty new to this Forum. Im 49 and been on the gluten-free diet on my own for 2 1/2 years after suffering severe Ulcerative Colitis since 89. You mentioned a regular gluten-free multi? Are you talking One A Day which are gluten-free or is there a special gluten-free multi? -
BEWARE of some of the Colgate Toothpastes. I think it was the Whitening one with Baking Soda and Peroxide i tried, it gave me the worse mouth ulcers/kanker sores. The more I used it the more I got. They got worse until I put 2 & 2 together and stopped useing Colgate and went back to Crest. I have never had a problem with Crest Toothpastes. Good...

I have been on a Gluten-Free diet for 2 1/2 years now. Before going on the Gluten-Free diet I rarely ever had an anxiety attack. I know i'm going through stressful times but I am having anxiety attacks quite often. I have heard certain vitamins, such as B6 and B12 would help with anxiety. Does anyone know if that is true or not? Before I start taking...

ANXIETY...Gluten-free, teenagers and Menopausal... I tried anti-depressants for anxiety and I felt it took my personality away. If it's anxiety you have I suggest you talk to your doctor about Klonopin Wafers (Clonazepam disintegrating tablets). It works in about 15 minutes and you don't even feel like you took anything. The anxiety is just gone. Amazing...

ARCHIVED Help. Servre Cronic Canker Sores
DeeTee33 replied to hwmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I stick to Crest Toothpaste and haven't had a Canker Sore in years. I forget which exact one but Colgate Toothpaste gave me horrible ulcers or Canker Sores in my mouth! My mother's cure for Canker Sores was to put Baking Soda directly on them. You would make a paste and pat it on and had to hold your mouth funny for a few minutes though. Do it a couple... -
ARCHIVED Can Gluten Harm The Colon Too?
DeeTee33 replied to sspitzer5's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Just took my 19 year old daughter for the first time to the GI for digestive problems. Even though I haven't been officially diagnosed with Celiac Disease he has decided to give her the blood test next week. I'm really curious on what the results might say. My mother passed away at the age of 54 with Cancer of the Pancreas. She previosly also had been... -
ARCHIVED Can Gluten Harm The Colon Too?
DeeTee33 replied to sspitzer5's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Oh yes, Gluten can harm the colon! I had been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis back in 1989 and it never got better. It actually got worse no matter how much medicine I took. The doctor said they didn't know what caused Ulcerative Colitis and there was no cure for it so I did a little research on my own. Late 2003 I went on a Gluten-Free diet and...
