  1. Premature Post: Well, Christine, maybe I can ease your mind about your wrists, so you'll have one less thing to worry about. Granted, it's only a baby step, but we all have to start somewhere. My mother's fourth cousin thrice removed, Lula, had a dangling nerve in her right wrist, and that thing drove her crazy. She worried about it constantly, and...
  2. I'm so embarassed. How could I, Distinguished Chair of Celiac Literary and Historical Oddities Department at UCCF, have forgotten the name of the esteemed university to which I have dedicated half my life, my fortune, and my sacred honour. I bow my head in shame. Let us now observe one minute of silence in solemn acknowledgement of my mental lapse....
  3. Hi, y'all! Everyone is so witty today! Love it!!! So many postings, so many comments to make, so little time. It's overwhelming me! Welcome, David, Rachel's friend-but-not-boss. Susan, possibly msg (Auxigro ) in the broccoli? Cecile, I miss you. Donna, citric acid = corn. Lynne, where can I find the wedding post? To...
  4. Girl, that is the best idea I've heard in 50 years!!! Cissie
  5. I've caught up with y'all again, after a long telephone conversation with my son. I was going to say something here, but now I've forgotten what it was. Oh, well. Good night! Cissie
  6. It IS the best thing to do!!! If my strong grandsons hadn't moved out of state, I would be growing my own veggies. But alas, I can't plow all by myself. Cissie
  7. Do you have cool weather in the autumn? You could call the state agrigultural dept., and ask what to plant and when. If you send them a soil sample, they'll send you a report on what you need to amend the soil. It may be possible to grow cool weather crops like spinach, collards, and turnip greens this year! I don't know, but it's worth a try. I would...
  8. And something else shocking to me is what I read on whfoods.com about what qualifies as organic produce nowadays! On that same website I tried to find info about Auxigro - nothing, zilch, nada, nichts, zero! Cissie
  9. ANDREA, good job!!!!! RACHEL, I think we should all get our spinach together, and come up with a plan to have you testify before Congress about the deplorable state of the agricultural industry in our country. Rachelville could send representatives to picket outside the Congressional building, while you testify. DOWN WITH MSG! OUR FOOD IS KILLING US...
  10. Gosh, thanks, Vincent!!! It makes sense now. There are actually two cable wires attached to the modem - one for the computer and the other for the tv. So I'll unplug the power cord, and unscrew the two cable wires. Have I got it right? Cissie
  11. Now I'm really confused. I have a cable modem. Nothing is plugged into a wall outlet except a thick black wire (cable?) that's connected at the other end to a black box that everything else is plugged into. That black box is connected to one black cable that disappears into a hole in the floor. I'm sorry to sound so dumb, Vincent. Cissie
  12. Well, Esteemed Goofiness, maybe you weren't meant to get it. I dunno. I used your regular email address. Doesn't matter; it's outdated by now! Cecile, I see you! How are you feeling now? Cissie
  13. Thanks, Vincent. I didn't think about a direct hit from lightning. So if another bad storm comes through, or if I go on vacation, exactly what should I unplug, and from what do I unplug it? I have so many plugs and cables and boxes and the large black box . . . I wouldn't know where to start! Dh can't help me; remember, he's still living in the...
  14. You're right, Andrea; that's what I have. When we built my studio, I told my husband and the general contractor (Masonic buddy of my dh) that I wanted it wired for cable tv and a computer. Dh said it wasn't necessary, because he had a perfectly good computer in his office (right next to studio) that I could use. Once again, he underestimated his dear...
  15. I have a surge protector, too. No, I don't unplug my computer, just turn it off instead of putting it to sleep. Thanks, y'all, for missing me. I'm happy to be back! Cissie
  16. Hey, Dingo Girl! Don't know why you didn't get my email, but I've re-sent it. I wrote it when you were feeling so sad yesterday. We had more storms roll through yesterday evening, so I had my computer turned off. The storms weren't as bad as the ones on Friday evening, which scared the spinach out of me! Welcome to our new girls! Berneses...
  17. Susan, my dear, check your email. Love you. Cissie P.S. Natural flavors usually mean beware of hidden msg!
  18. I missed out on all the good conversation last night. We had a HUGE thunderstorm!!! Constant lightning, with so many rolls of thunder that you couldn't tell when one stopped and another began! As Cecile would say, good googly moogly!!! No way was I gonna sit at my keyboard. I just went to bed. I have comments to make, but errands to run first...
  19. I've been on here since about 5:30, and just now caught up! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!! Our President is back!!!!! Cissie
  20. Patti, I checked back, and found that Donna's last post on here was Wednesday morning at 9:47 AM, August 2nd. Who mentioned the earthquake? Maybe Rachel and Donna are both without power. Cissie
  21. I know exactly what you mean, although I've never heard that expression. Rachel, check in!!! Meanwhile, Andrea and I will continue searching. Evie, I'm sending a prayer for you to FEEL MUCH BETTER - NOW! Patti, thanks. I'll see if I can reach her, but I think she's at work now. Cissie
  22. Rachel works at a Safeway. I found that info on one of the first posts on this thread, on page 7. Now I'm going to see if I can find where she said her mother lives. Cissie
  23. Doesn't Rachel live at her mother's during the week? I think she said she works at a Buy Rite store there, and only goes back to her own house on weekends. So she would have been at her mother's the last time she posted. I'm not sure about the Buy Rite, though I know it is a grocery store. I just went to the Members file. Her last post was on Wednesday...
  24. Listen, y'all, I'm seriously concerned about Rachel!!! I just PMed her, but it's very early in the morning in California, so I don't expect an answer any time soon. I checked back, and her last post on this string was Tuesday night, August 1st, page 276, post #4128. Cissie
  25. Has anyone heard from Rachel? I'm getting worried about her. Busy evening scheduled, so I'm checking out for the day. Bye. Cissie
