ARCHIVED Inability To Properly Absorb Water?
GlutenWrangler replied to Woolygimp's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have the same exact problem that you're having. It's frustrating. I definitely think it has a lot to do with the Glucose aiding in absorption, along with the added electrolytes. It hasn't really improved for me at all in the past two years. Hopefully you'll have better luck than me. Take care, -Brian -

ARCHIVED Here's A New One
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yeah it's not for everyone. I smoked as a teenager, so I have no problem with the side effects. I started up again to help settle my stomach last fall. But it started to affect my lungs, and my doctor felt that it was worth switching me to the pill form. Home_Based_Mom is right though, the point of the pill is to remove all of the impurities, and to relieve... -
Hey Everyone, I haven't posted in a little while, so I figured it's about time that I check in. There hasn't been any change whatsoever in my condition, which is partially why I haven't posted recently. So I'm still on the IV Nutrition, and I'm still not eating anything at all. But on a positive note, I was able to get on disability, which is such a huge...

Yeah it really doesn't matter what kind of food I eat, gluten-free or not. I still get all the symptoms for some reason. It's a really weird situation, and doctors are clueless as to why it's been happening. So until they figure out the problem, I won't be eating anything. But I'm used to it by now, almost a year later. -Brian

ARCHIVED New Here And Question About Enterolab Results
GlutenWrangler replied to lanam80's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Your high number only indicates that your body responded to gluten by releasing A LOT of antibodies. It could just be the way your body responds to gluten, but it does not indicate how severe your condition is. Personally, I really don't think that there's a difference between Celiac Disease and Gluten Sensitivity. My opinion is that Celiac Disease is just... -
It sounds like you might be having migraines. It could be caused by other food allergies or another intolerance. Or it could just be caused by environmental issues. You may want to think about seeing a neurologist. Good luck. -Brian

ARCHIVED My Eye Wont Stop Twitching!
GlutenWrangler replied to dksart's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It really might just be a Magnesium deficiency. The same thing used to happen to me. You see, when I get glutened, I lose some of my electrolytes, creating a deficiency. It doesn't go away until the Magnesium is replaced. You could try some Magnesium rich foods or get a Megnesium supplement to see if it helps. Good luck. -Brian -
Hey Collette, I would definitely try one thing at a time. You never know what you're going to react to. Actually, maybe you should just eat some soybeans and see how you feel after. That way you know you're only eating soy. Just my 2 cents! Good luck, -Bri

ARCHIVED Another Infection
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks, Collette. I appreciate your support so much. I'm sorry to hear that you have severe systemic Candida. It can really take a toll on you. But I'm glad that you found a good probiotic that works for you, as it can be quite tricky. I went through a few different probiotics before I discovered the Natren Healty Trinity probiotics, which have been a godsend... -

ARCHIVED Another Infection
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I worked my way up to a full teaspoon of Nystatin a day. It was helping for a while, but it became too much, even when I cut down. I looked up Theralac, and it only has 20 Billion CFU. Do you mean Threelac? I used Threelac for a while, but I don't think it's any better than the Natren Healthy Trinity probiotics that I take. I don't really trust Threelac either... -

ARCHIVED Another Infection
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'll have to ask my doctor if she used Igenex. I have to see her in two weeks, so I'll find out. I'm not thrilled about taking antibiotics with Candida, but I think the Klebsiella is more serious. I've been taking really good probiotics for a while (Natren Healthy Trinity), so I'm kind of surprised it got so bad. But I'll definitely continue to take them... -

ARCHIVED Another Infection

Kassandra, The doctor told me that the Lyme test was negative. But I'm not 100% convinced because I'm not sure what lab she used and she's not an LLMD. But I'll have to figure all that out later when I get this infection taken care of. Thank you for telling me about CarlaB. Hopefully she'll chime in, but if not, I'll send her a PM. Thanks, -Brian -
Hey Everyone, I got a call from my doctor today about my results from a Comprehensive Parasitology stool test. When I had this test a year ago, I had a Pseudomonas infection and Candida. This time, she said that I have a Klebsiella infection, and she's starting me on Bactrim for it. It also showed Candida. So apparently the list just goes on as to what...

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Collette, I agree that relationships are hard enough for people who aren't chronically ill. But there are so many obstacles to get past with a significant other when you are sick. I think most people are just scared to scratch the surface, which is too bad, because there is so much more to people like us. Life really does mean little without love... -

Collette, I'm sorry that you have experienced loss due to your illness as well. Luckily I haven't lost any of my close friends. They've been very understanding and accomodating, which is definitely appreciated. I'm glad that two of your friends have come back into your life. You definitely deserve to have people there for you. True friends are always there... -

I also wanted to add that I'm a dreamer as well. The reason why I bring it up is because I had a precognitive dream last night, which came true today. My girlfriend periodically gets severe sore throats that could possibly be caused by chronic epstein-barr virus. Lately I have been getting intermittent sore throats that only last a few hours at a time. In... -

ARCHIVED Worried About My Daughter
GlutenWrangler replied to texasmama's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Your daughter's damage can definitely be completely healed. Children heal exponentially quicker than adults, and they are also much more apt to fully heal. I would expect your daughter to be completely healed in about a year max. It sounds like you are taking a great approach towards helping your daughter heal. Organic foods and probiotics are great for the... -

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Collette, It really does suck in a million different ways. I'm ok now, but I know it's going to be hell when she leaves . We've been together since June of '05, and we were also engaged. I don't fully understand why she has to go, but nothing will change her mind. I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess the worst part is that she loves me for me... -

Collette, That's awesome that you got accepted so quickly. I hear so many horror stories, but at the same time, you attract what you fear, so I'm not going to give any energy to that type of negativity. Hopefully it works out the same for me! I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. It's great that you are still able to connect with him though,... -

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Collette, I'm so glad I made this post! I'm into the Metaphysical stuff too. I'm also Empathic, and I'm currently working on learning to control it. I'm reading a great book called "Empowered by Empathy", which is really good so far. I'm not Clairvoyant, but I am Clairsentient. It tends to turn on and off though, so I'm hoping to learn to control that... -

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sickchick, Yes I have been attuned. It was back in October of 2006. I'm currently only attuned to the first level, which I'm not happy about. I was scheduled for the level II attunement in February of 2007, but I was too sick to make it that day. And missing that appointment put me out of line for the following Master/Teacher attunement. Right now I... -

Sickchick, I'm mesmerized by energy work too! There's really nothing else out there that interests me more. It is something that I would absolutely love to do for a career. Do you do any energy work yourself? Have you had any done on you? By the way, I love the username -Brian -

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the replies so far. I definitely have had success with Reiki, and the good thing about it is that I can give it to myself anytime I want. I'm hoping to reach the Reiki Master level eventually, and possibly become a practicioner. I have had a few instances where the energy was so powerful that it was almost overwhelming, which was very cool. It... -

ARCHIVED Spiritual And Alternative Healing
GlutenWrangler posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had any success with Spiritual and Alternative Healing methods, such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Quantum Touch, Body Talk, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Integrated Energy Therapy...etc. I have had some success with Reiki, which I can do myself, and Body Talk, which was done by a practicioner. Reiki is energy healing through... -

ARCHIVED Questions - Please Help!
GlutenWrangler replied to Lux's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Lux, A blood test is definitely enough for a diagnosis in your case. On top of that, you have also had a positive dietary response. There is no question that you have a problem with wheat and gluten. At this point, an endoscopy/biospy would only be useful in assessing the amount of damage, which may or may not be present. If there were to be no damage...
