ARCHIVED Possibly Glutened From Gum
sclark9602 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay you guys! Yesterday I gave my daughter the new Cobalt gum by Wrigleys and she's had diarrhea since. Yesterday she had it 3 times and today she's had it twice. She said that she hasn't had a bad headache or anything with it but mainly the diarrhea. I'm afraid that I've glutened her with this gum. I can't find any info. about this gum other than what... -
Thank you. I feel a little better. I just don't want her to have a really bad reaction. Thanks.

I just accidentally glutened both kids. What can I do real quick to avoid a lot of bad reactions to this??? Thanks.

ARCHIVED Dd And Ds Have Celiac
sclark9602 replied to sclark9602's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh Know!!! I just read the Heinz 57 sauce and it has malt vin. in it. I've been feeding that to my kids thinking that was okay. Not that the malt vinegar was okay but I could've sworn that H. 57 was fine. I think that I confused it with A1 steak sauce. I feel really horrible now. -

ARCHIVED Dd And Ds Have Celiac
sclark9602 posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Okay, DS's stomach hurt for a couple of days last week (Wed. and Thur). Well starting on Saturday DD's tummy started hurting too. DS didn't have diarrhea or throwing up but just a quizzy feeling. DD has had diarrhea and throw. up since Sat. I have been keeping an eye on it and was thinking maybe it was a virus and not Celiac but now I'm thinking it's... -
ARCHIVED Worried About Dd, Please Help!
sclark9602 replied to sclark9602's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thanks! Isn't that so weird how gluten can affect someone. Well I don't think she's accidentally had gluten. She wouldn't cheat either. She went thru a lot of pain before being diagnosed and doesn't want to go thru anything like that again. It would've been accidental if she had been glutened. Maybe it's just horomones. Let the fun began, if it is... -
ARCHIVED Worried About Dd, Please Help!
sclark9602 posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
DD turned 10 in Aug. and found out 3 yrs. ago that she had celiac disease. But in the past month she has had 3 crying spells. Would this have to do with celiac disease or puberty??? I know they say depression, concentration problems and so on are things that can occur with celiac disease but is that so being off of wheat and gluten or only while you're... -

ARCHIVED Starving / Bloated Belly
sclark9602 replied to au natural's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with the dairy and soy. I took my DD off of Dairy and within a couple of wks., her bloating went away. I took her to McD's to get a vanilla milkshake and guess what, the bloating and gas came back with a vengance. I took DD Friday to have blood drawn for Milk allergy test. We'll see. -
I thought that Wendy's or Burger King fries were gluten and wheat free. Are they not?

I didn't realize that the lactose test and dairy allergy test were different. I told DD doc. last week that I wanted her to have the dairy allergy test done to see if she was allergic to milk and he did the lactose test instead. This really makes me mad b/c that same day he had another Celiac blood panel done on her to make sure that she was glutened by...

ARCHIVED Dd Had The Lactose Breath Test
sclark9602 posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
The test took 2 hours to do. The nurse said that DD passed and doesn't have lactose intolerence. Okay that is great news BUT, the minute my DD drank dairy after the test, she bloated and had gas more than ever. Could the test be wrong? I haven't even talked to the DR. about this test yet. He's suppose to call me about the results. Test was done Friday... -

Well her eyes are barely bad. The doc. almost didn't give her a prescription for glasses b/c they aren't that bad. She is only 10. I'm hoping that it's nothing serious. I'm sure that she'll be okay.
