You're most welcome. It's been fun. Now we will really see if this was a good idea or not when we receive his response.

BUMP........ Hello all. This is the last day for you to be added to our list of names on the letter to Dr. Fine. So far we have 27. You may post on here or you may PM me privately. And remember, you do NOT have to use your full name if you would rather not. We are accepting first names, last names, initials, full names and board names...

ARCHIVED Any Relationship Between Celiac And Paget's?
Gentleheart replied to marie06's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm so sorry to hear about your constant headaches. I wish I could take them away. Maybe more time free from gluten will eventually do it. Let's hope so. I am the only one in my family who has tested or who is even interested in being tested. So even though there are others in my family who are likely blessed with gluten sensitivity too, we may... -
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. We now have 25 names.
-
Oh, I think that is a great idea! I will be happy to do that at my expense. Thank you for the kind offer to help. We now have 22 names.

I think I would like to make the end of the day on Friday as our stopping point for this project. I hope that doesn't rush anyone. I think it's time to get the letter sent. Many of you have PM'd me and been so kind in your responses. Thank you. We now have 21 people. I certainly hope to still get more, but if not, I'm most grateful for what we have...

I told myself I wasn't going to respond on this thread since I'm so busy with the other one. But I just can't help but make a comment here. I'm so sorry if anyone is still misunderstanding our motives with the Dr. Fine letter and this whole discussion in general. Of course we know that much 'science' that gets published eventually proves itself to...

May I humbly step in here and make a heartfelt request. I would like to keep this thread precisely on target. There may yet be a few people who wish to come onboard and sign our letter to Dr. Fine before we send it in the next couple of days. But like me, they are 'gentlehearts' and may not do especially well with controversy. Many of us are very sick...

I'm not in any particular hurry. I'm sorry if I gave that impression. But precisely because it is Christmastime and everyone is so busy, I thought it would be good to wrap this up and get it sent as soon as possible. If people are still wanting to sign, however, then I am most happy to wait awhile longer. I just thought I should set some kind of 'deadline...

Please don't be concerned everyone. I am paying close attention to exactly what people are saying and not saying. Unless they specifically say they wish to be included and give me the name they wish to use, I am not including them. I am committed to keeping this little project simple and accurate in every way. Using an outside petition-producing website...

ARCHIVED Genetic Freak? Or Something Else?
Gentleheart replied to minton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I too come from a huge family and extended family on both sides. I got a gluten intolerant gene from one parent and a celiac gene from the other. This year we happened to have reunions on all 4 sides of my family. That rarely happens. I honestly searched and talked all over the place trying to find even a single other relative with gluten issues or likely... -
Thank you!

Hello everyone. I've been stuck in 'outline mode' all day long and didn't even know I was lost! I couldn't see any of the responses for this thread and thought something was wrong with the board. Fortunately some very nice people on the board got me back on track. I warned you all that computers and I only marginally get along! Several people have...

ARCHIVED The 'letter To Dr. Fine' Thread Appears To Be Gone
Gentleheart replied to Gentleheart's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
PROBLEM SOLVED! Thanks so much cruelshoes and psawyer. Yes, I was on 'outline' mode for some reason. I didn't do anything to get there that I know of, but somehow that's where I was. Now I learned something else valuable today....the OPTIONS button! Anyway, you computer people continue to impress me. What would we illiterates ever do without you... -
ARCHIVED The 'letter To Dr. Fine' Thread Appears To Be Gone
Gentleheart replied to Gentleheart's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I'm so sorry to be a pest, but I am still not getting any of the posts for the 'Letter to Dr. Fine' thread. The initial post question is there, but none of the rest of the thread. It's empty just as if it were a new post. When I click on any other posts, I am getting all the activity just fine as usual. I have rebooted my computer and done everything... -

ARCHIVED The 'letter To Dr. Fine' Thread Appears To Be Gone
Gentleheart replied to Gentleheart's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
Thanks. I still marvel at how fast you are! I will be patient. I'm sorry I mistakenly posted this on 'doctors' instead of 'technical'. I'm assuming you mean that the board is still having issues. On my screen anyway, I still have nothing showing under the initial post question. -
ARCHIVED The 'letter To Dr. Fine' Thread Appears To Be Gone
Gentleheart posted a topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
The thread for 'Letter to Dr. Fine' has disappeared except for the initial post question. I hope it's just a glitch. Is it my computer or is the Forum site having a bit of a nervous breakdown today? I hope we get the thread back. I would hate to have to do the letter over again. Thanks for any help. -
Man, you're fast!! How wonderful. I'm not in trouble! Thanks, Jerseyangel!

Hi, I was just wondering about something. I notice that whenever I post something, on the bottom of all my information on the left side of the screen it says.... warn: 0% (and then 5 green bars) Is that a good thing or a bad thing??? I don't see it on anyone else's and was just concerned. Thanks so much.

We'll wait a couple more days, perhaps, for anyone to make any suggestions regarding the letter itself. Then I suppose we will have to decide how to share the names to get a list compiled to send along with the letter. Because privacy may certainly be an issue for some who want to include their full or first names, I will be happy to have anyone PM me accordingly...

Being the ridiculous perfectionist that I am, I keep going back over the letter and making little grammatical corrections. Sorry about that. It's what I do. But one major addition I felt should be made, I have included in the very last sentence. Don't you all think we should be sure to alert Dr. Fine that his response will ultimately be posted on our...

Although this thread started out innocently enough, it kind of got off topic along the way and sometimes sparked a lot of passion in the wrong direction. Most of us have subsequently left it in lieu of a "fresher" thread concerning plans to send Dr. Fine a nice group letter to try to clear up some of the confusion about Enterolab and its tests. But...

Absolutely, Mushroom. In my attempt to get some feedback from interested people here, I don't want anyone to misunderstand. Dr. Fine's response, if he chooses to give us one, can inform and benefit all of us. But only those who want to sign need do so. And again, I don't think anything but first names or even pseudo-names will be necessary in my opinion...

Thanks Fiddle Faddle. That's a great addition. I have added it to the original post. I'm still wondering just how many people on the board actually have interest in doing this. I'm not seeing much action. I realize that they may just be reading and waiting, but the letter won't be as effective if we don't have a sizable amount of accompanying names...
