Day Five Of The Master Cleanse

Posted by miloandotis, 17 July 2009 · 650 views

I am on my fifth day without food and I feel really good. Weird, I know. I made a huge mistake and booked a dental appointment yesterday…a three hour dental appointment. It did not go well, as I swallowed some of the freezing gel and froze my throat and then got all panicked because I couldn’t breath properly. Luckily, I have a fabulous dentist and he walked me through things and with a little (lot) of gas I did just fine.

The cleanse has told me a lot about my body. It is weird to feel so good with so little intake. I know that it is because I am not taking in anything I am allergic to.

The cleanse is a whole mental thing too. I feel like I’m reevaluating everything that I eat, and spend quite a bit of time looking up new recipes for when I come off the cleanse.

I got my bloodwork back yesterday and I tested negative for celiac disease. This is a great relief for me, as I now know I can be a bit less vigilant about my food intake. I know the test isn’t considered the be-all-end-all of diagnostic tools, but it is enough for me to breathe a sigh of relief. Now I will continue on being allergic to gluten.

There is so much more time in my day now that I am not eating. And I actually feel like doing things instead of feeling like a slug at the end of the work day. It’s really nice and a way I have not felt for years. I still don’t know how long I will stay on…I’m waiting for my tongue to go pink. My coworkers are starting to bug me about it though, so peer pressure may lead me to stop sooner then later. We will see.

Most people who feel badly due to food, enjoy not eating. When one feels so much better, the last thing they want to do is put food in their mouth and risk feeling badly again. Hence, anorexia is a side effect of celiac, and probably other food intolerance issues. Be careful. My brother just did a 40 day fast (drinking only fruit smoothies) and he is now ill.
