The letter from the specialist registrar of the neurology dept. came and I am puzzled by this bit (among others):

"...tried a gluten-restricted diet... and started putting on weight having previously always been under weight"

- when I had given him on a piece of paper the real date frame of my major weight fluctuations.

Also:

"... relationship between gluten sensitivity and cerebellar syndrome ..... I don't think further investigations along this line would be valuable."

I wasn't aware we planned any but I think it is outside his remit to express any opinion either way about this. Perhaps he just means he doesn't see the need for another scan for the time being (which is OK enough by me for the time being)?

And:

"...answered questions in a concrete form, which made history-taking challenging."

Well he would try to cram everything in under an hour instead of have me come back for the rest of it. He didn't trouble to explain to me at the time that there was anything wrong with what I was saying.

Also other points not relevant to this forum.

There were even a few points he got right!

My GP will have had a copy also and he always copies such letters in their entirety to my employer's medical adviser (having held out for my "consent") so I really don't know what anyone will think.

What was supposed to happen was a report was supposed to detail support measures that are being taken to assist me with optimum management of my health, e.g a certain clinic should open near me in about a year's time that should help with future recurrences of certain problems if they ever recur, thereby ensuring I get help immediately and maintain good enough work performance rather than approach collapse through prolonged professional neglect.

These letters are so difficult to interpret and in my experience I won't be the only one having that trouble!

What do you others think?

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
