Trader Joe's Salami

My 3-yr old w/ celiac disease wants to eat Trader Joe's artisan salami. The package lists "natural flavoring" and "spices". I understand that TJ's will call out if derived from wheat, barley and rye, but do not guarantee against cross contamination. Is this in the "not worth it" category? Should I tell her no and buy certified gluten-free salami?

Background: She was diagnosed in the last month and I have been restricting her diet to whole foods that I prepare and food labeled gluten free. I have also taken us gluten free in the house to avoid cross contamination. I want to protect her, but am not sure if I'm going overboard and unnecessarily restricting her diet from things that "should" be safe. Thanks!

Its probably fine.  But.... I doubt a 3 year old would care if her salami is from Trader Joes or pre-packaged Boarshead?  There are many brands that say "gluten-free" on them - why not just buy those?

Go with the Boars Head brand.

That makes sense. I am not even certain how it ended up in my home. Maybe one of the kids grabbed it while shopping, as I have been checking everything I put in the cart. Yesterday, she found it in the fridge an I told her no, since I wasn't sure. Thanks!

      Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

      Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
