Update On Son's Appointment Today

My son had his follow up with the GI doc today. He is scheduled for his endoscopy May 6. We restarted gluten on March 11 so that will have him at 2 months on gluten. He has not grown at all since going back on gluten but he did gain 2 pounds.

 

My younger son (10) also had blood drawn today for a celiac panel. We have been fighting what the doctors assumed to be a nickel allergy. It cleared up almost completely off of gluten. He has a blistery rash back on his abdomen after restarting gluten. He has had zero nickel anywhere near the area/ The GI doc said it's possible he may have DH so we will see.

Are they arranging a dh biopsy for your 10 year old?

Not at this time. They only ordered labs at this point.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

      Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done...

      Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
