Tests done, waiting for CT Scan and Biopsy appointments

Hello, I have been reading a lot of posts while waiting for some of my test results to come back.  So thankful for the information I have found so far!

I have completed my blood tests and other lab work.  Complete allergy tests came back positive for all in the bread/cereal profile.   One of the gene tests for Celiac came back positive and one other test came back high, even though I was not eating Gluten at the time of my lab work.  Back eating a small amount of gluten daily and have CT Scan and biopsy appointments scheduled for the near future.

I was wondering if anyone else is where I am as far as the testing.  I have had quite a few symptoms return quickly after going back to eating gluten.  The next day I had a migraine headache for the entire day, went to sleep and woke up with another headache that wasn't quite as bad.  Prior to my appointment,  I was only gluten free for 2 months and was really starting to feel great.  Three days into eating gluten stomach cramps returned.  Also on a Low FODMAP diet.  Unfortunately had to go back to eating it for the biopsy test.

Please reply if you are in the same spot as me as far as testing for Celiac.  Thanks, Sheila

Why are you scheduled for a CT scan?  If you knew the amount of radiation involved, you would avoid this.  You had a positive blood test for Celiac but you're eating gluten?  For what reason?  Are you getting an upper endoscopy and biopsy?  That's what you should be having - not a CT scan.

Cary, the OP DID say a biopsy was scheduled, and that's why she is back eating gluten. I don't know why the cat scan is on tap and I agree it's a lot of radiation but I'm sure the doctor has a good reason to schedule it.

Cary, I had to go back to eating a small amount of gluten daily for 8 weeks for the biopsy scheduled in March. The doctor wanted to do a CT scan, because I have had a lot of symptoms last year which got worse in the end of 2015, to rule out anything else besides Celiac.    I will read the posts from others that have had both the CT scan and biopsy to see if they are having both done for the same reason as myself.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
