Gluten Withdrawl

I never really suffered physical symptoms from Gluten it was just low iron and folic acid and biospies confirmed damage to the villi and blood test strong positive. The plus points my loose bowel movement in the morning has gone. I have always gone twice a day but now they are perfect brown bowel movements which is great. Downside I feel worse now than I did when eating Gluten. Im gluten free for 3.5 weeks now. I actually nearly feel hungover some days and a little light headed and my mood is quite down and stomach doesn't feel 100%. Is this all a withdrawl possibly. Im 37 so stopping gluten after 37 years I imagine you would notice some side affect and Im hungry all the time. Im honestly at the stage of giving in but I know I cant I have to stick with it. My grandfather and great grandfather died in there 40's from bowel/stomach cancer so I realise that there is a chance it could have been caused by celiacs. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy so all good in that respect.

Anyone else similar experiences

The withdrawal is very common, heck look up any major drug withdrawal it fits with symptoms down the list to a opoid addiction withdrawal lol. You will also feel a bit like the flu as your body changes gears for processing of your primary calorie food intake.
Try to take supplement for B-vitamins, magnesium etc. To help with the hunger try eating more fiber and fats, you will find this works great. I turned to snacking on nuts, seeds, and nut butters between meals...honestly my always hungry thing stuck around for over 4 years til I changed my diet to ketogenic. But I had other complications like Ulcerative Colitis etc, that require a no/low carb diet to keep under control.

Watch what you eat and try to eat balanced diet, if you get crazy cravings look them up you might be low in something. You sorta have to become a dietician or see a nutritionist to get your new menu down. I make sure to get a bit of everything and have learned the signs for something I am low in.

Gluten withdrawal is very real.  The length of time varies from person to person. How long were you sick, how severe, your age.  All factors.  Give yourself a couple months.

I would also cut out processed foods, at least until you heal.  Pure, whole foods are best.  If it has ingredients - stay away.

After my 3 year old daughter's diagnosis, we all got tested. My 5 year old son also came back positive with number 12x the upper limit.  We will confirm with another tTG and the other 2 tests in the panel.  He has zero symptoms that I have noticed. Maybe occasionally vomiting. He does have asthma. He's kind of an a**hole sometimes but also he's 5. He has SO much energy. Like miles and miles of biking, running, gymnastics. Never stops. Eats great, normal growth. It was comparing my daughter to him that made me push to figure out what was wrong with her!  Is it possible for a tTG test to just be totally wrong?

I'm heading to the UK for a vacation the end of this month on a tour with Road Scholar. I haven't been out of the US since my diagnosis so I'm a little concerned about exposure to gluten during my travels. Most of our meals are provided by the tour. Either the hotels we are staying at, or places we will visit. Road Scholar is aware of my dietary needs as well. Any helpful hints about navigating the restaurants in England is greatly appreciated. Also are there any medications out there to help mitigate the effects of exposure to gluten? Thanks in advance.
