Scoped before blood test

I have been having stomach issues for years!  In the past 7 years, I have been hospitalized 3 times for "gastritis" which was always contributed to stress or virus each time. I have been diagnosed in the past with Gerd and IBS.   Recently, my symptoms of pain, reflux, gas, bloating and bathroom issues have redeveloped leading my gastrologist to order an endoscope.  After the procedure he told me I still had food remaining in my stomach, in pite of the fact that I had not eaten for 14 hours.  This is when he said, "It may be Celiacs."  He did take a few biopsies and we should have results this week.  From the day of the scope, I have not touched gluten, and the issues are MUCH MUCH better.  My question.......what can I expect moving forward?  Will there be more tests ahead with a confirmed Celiacs diagnoses?  Will the biopsies be all that' needed for a confirmation?  I m just feeling a little lost right now in this new world of possible Celiac

They might ask for blood test, but that would require eating gluten again, we tell people to keep eating it til all testing is done. BUT as the scope is the gold standard your doctor might just call it on that if you get positive biopsies. Here are some useful links so you can read up on testing, the diet and lifestyle, and see some hope of gluten free options (though we suggest a whole foods only diet for awhile)

Good point, as thyroid conditions are more common in those with celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/thyroid-pancreatic-disorders-and-celiac-disease/
