Does anyone know of any gluten free friendly restaurants in Napa Valley, California?

I was out in Napa last spring (we were visiting after having lived in San Francisco for quite some time). The Calistoga Inn was wonderful and accomodating. I had a delicious risotto dish there with fresh veggies and no problems. by the way, if you weren't planning on hitting Calistoga, you should! It's a great spa town in Napa valley with mudbaths, massages, hot springs- heavenly. And the grocery store has lots of gluten-free products as well. I found that in the San Francisco/Northern California area there is a great deal of awareness about Celiac's.Also, check out this link:

At the end they recommend Bistro Jeanty in Yountville (Napa) which I have heard wonderful things about from friends. have a great trip! B

Thank you so much for this information. We are going to Napa in two weeks and planning on staying in Napa for a week. We are planning on visiting Calistoga for one day and tring the mudbaths and getting a massage, so this information on Calistoga Inn is helpful. Thanks again and I'll check out this website.

We had an amazing time in Napa, the hot air balloon ride made the trip even more special. I emailed

Bistro Jeanty in Yountville (Napa), before we left and their cheif did not even know what gluten was. They were not very helpful at all, they should not have their name on a glute free site. I told them that and they said they never put it on that site. One restaurant that was very helpful was Hurleys, it is down the street from Bistro Jeanty. We also ate at Cole's steakhouse and had no problems.

Oh I'm so excited to hear about your trip! Napa is one of my favorite places and I'd retire there IF I could afford it. I've printed this info for next visit there. Thanks again!

Check out the Culinary Institute in the area. They have a restaurant, and I imagine that chefs in training would be a good choice at making a tasty gluten free meal.

Carol- Glad you had a great time! Love it there. disappointed about Bistro jeanty though- a friend of mine (whgo does not have Celiac's) loves it there and they were on the Bay Area list. Oh well! I'm hoping to make it out in March so it was good to hear your recommendations. Best, Beverly

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
