Celiac And Duodenal Cancer?

HI,

I am fairly new to all of this. My diet started out as a 6 week trial and now, 12 weeks later I'm still struggling through it. And YES, I do feel better.

My question is, can/could celiac cause duodenal cancer? My father in law complained of stomach pains since the day I met him, over 16 years ago and he passed away on Jan 26, 2005. I have a duodenal group at yahoo now. But as I am reading about all of these things, pains, foods, etc, it made me wonder about it. Docs sayd it's rare and only a few people get it,but according to the amount of people signing up on the yahoo board that's not the case.

Thanks soooooo much for those who have been posting. I've had stomach and right side pains under my ribs as well. The endoscopy only showed and inflamed stomach and nothing on the lab tissue. IS the inflamed stomach also a part of celiac? I am guessing it is because i't much better and I know when I've been "glutened" I was begining to think this was all in my head, but as I continue to learn and read posts, wow, do I ever fit right in.

I am working on getting my daughter to eat gluten free as well, but without telling her. SHe's 6 3/4 and complains about stomaches every time we turn around. She is often in the bathroom during meals too. SO, I'm just having a hunch about that.

Thanks for your wisdom!

Nicole

I don't know about keeping it a secret from a year old. Children are very adaptable. If your child notices a difference on a gluten free diet, that the stomach pains are gone they will probably adhere to a strictly gluten free diet for life. My six year old avoids gluten like the poison it is to him.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
