My N D  doc gave me a hormone test which also tested for antibodies for celiac (2 wheat proteins).

I came up 14 out of 15!!!! My doc said i could NOT eat gluten anymore and she gave me a list what i could eat and not eat.  But i did NOT believe her since i was not having hard core symptoms at that time.  I kept on eating gluten till Nov/ 2019 till my symptoms got so bad. THEN i knew  'OMG she was right'.  She didn't tell me i had celiacs or Gluten   Intolerance,  and for awhile i thought  G  I.  NOW i know i have celiacs disease as i GET hardcore symptoms immediately and i can feel my body attacking the gluten and my intestines. And i know now if you have ANTIBODIES that does equal celiacs.    But my qst  is  does the throat scope hurt?   how do i know if i have any other BIG alergies? will gastro doc  refer me to the  allergy doc and how does that work? does it hurt? I don't want to do any thing that is invasive or hurts. How do they test you for allergies?  Also i have hardcore pituitary issue with a lot of  hypoglycemia and dizzness and when i got glutened the other day it made it worse. But i am getting better.  Does anyone have PIT issues along with  Celiacs?  I have had 50 symptoms with me eating gluten probably more. I have been glutened free since nov  21st, 2019  but i got glutened  on friday  Feb 28th, so if i hurry and go to mainstream doc to take tests will it show up?  it should . I dont want to eat gluten crackers. I think  i am just gonna narrow it down to eating only  5-9 whole  foods and that is it and   NOTHING ever processed that says gluten free. I heard other ppl are getting glutened on stuff that says gluten free.  SO far  only the wal mart chips  I  reacted!!!!   But i did not previously.  The bag does not say certified gluten free. Maybe that is the problem. Amys meals are fine.  thanks    Also  my body gave me warning signals that i ignored .If  i would have stopped eating the chips faster I think i would have  NOT got glutened .SO now i know what to look for if i ever eat processed foods again.  I get that small PAIN right in my stomach above the pelvic area.  And for me small amount of gluten  =small  stomach pain symptoms and a lot BIG.  Like when i ate  3 pieces of pumking bread on Nov 21st. lol= HUGE pains!!

It also had extra vital wheat gluten added.

The EGD didn't hurt and I had it done twice. They sedate you so you're not really fully awake. You may have a slightly sore throat but it's not really anything notable.

thanks so much. I want to know if I have any damage.  I heard you can still have damage even for ppl who are NOT having symptoms,  and who have celiacs.

Yes, people that have celiac disease can be asymptomatic and have damage that shows up on the EGD.

But they are a time BOMB, And they eventually one day HAVE HARDCORE symptoms like with me two years later after a test showed i can't handle gluten and i  and all those ppl ARE having symptoms but they are ignoring them and they are subtle at that time before the time bomb explodes.

Hi Colleen Are you supplementing B12/having injections? I have learned recently that sometimes when you start addressing a B12 deficiency, it can temporarily make your symptoms worse.  But it is important not to stop the treatment.  Regarding your problems with anxiety, again that is another symptom of a B12 deficiency.   I didn't know what anxiety was until it hit me like a train several months before gastrointestinal issues began, so I can certainly relate.   Two books which helped me hugely were At Last A Life by Paul David (there is a website you can look up) and The Depression Cure: The Six-Step Programme to Beat Depression Without Drugs by Dr Steve Llardi.  Although his book is aimed at people who have depression, following the principals he sets out was so helpful in lessening my anxiety.  Llardi suggests we need to focus on getting enough: - physical exercise - omega-3 fatty acids - natural sunlight exposure - restorative sleep - social connectedness - meaningful, engaging activity   ... and we should feel a lot better. That is not to stay you must stop taking medication for depression or anxiety if you have been prescribed it, but adopting the changes Dr Llardi sets out in the book should really help. Can I just ask two more questions:  1) you say that you are B12 deficient, did they test your iron levels too?  If not, you really ought to be checked for deficiency and, 2) did they check your thyroid function, as an overactive thyroid can be cause rapid heartbeat and a lot of coeliacs have thyroid issues? Hello still dancing around my celiac disease and not getting medically backed up considering Ive been glutenfree since 1994.All my ailments are the core issue of my ghost disease aka celiac disease. Im angery because the "celiac specialist " basically lightly dismissed me.Im extremely angery and fighting for a new primary care physician which is hard to do in Northern Cali.So currently without and looking.Im angery that its lightly taken when its extremely serious to the one who has it.My only evidence is a brochure back in the days when I got news letters when I lived at my parents. It was published in 1998.I was diagnosed before any foods eliminated from my diet. Angery doctors don't take seriously when Im clearly speaking.I did write to the medicine of congress and have case number.

I totally get this. It's absolutely a grieving process, and it's okay to feel gutted about the loss of those simple joys, especially at 18. Your feelings are completely valid—it's not about being ungrateful for your amazing boyfriend, it's about mourning the life you thought you'd have. That "tortured by the smell" feeling is so real. It does get easier, I promise, but it's okay to sit in the sadness and just vent about how much it stings right now. Thanks for sharing that. Celiac.com has published a book on our site by Jean Duane PhD called Gluten-Centric Culture, which covers many of the social aspects of having celiac disease: This chapter in particular covers issues around eating with family and others - Gluten-Centric Culture: Chapter 5 - Grabbing A Bite Together:
