I ASKED THIS BUT THINK I ASKED IN THE WRONG SECTION.  SO HERE IT GOES.

WE ALL OR SOME LOVE FRENCH FRIES AND SOME LIKE POTATO NUGGETS.  ANY FROZEN ITEMS CONTAIN A LOT OF PRESERVATIVES, ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT PRODUCTS IN THIS AREA SAFE.  I KNOW THAT WOODMANS HAS A GREAT gluten-free SECTION AND I HAVE BOUGHT ALEXIS FF, NOT MANY INGRIEDIENTS, BUT ANY OTHER BRANDS WOULD BE HELPFUL LIKE IS ORE-IDA PRODUCTS OK.  THANKS

NANCY

Hi Nancy, welcome to the forum. Please note that it's best to post in all lower case, than all capital letters, as the latter is considered something like yelling 😲.

There are many products that are naturally gluten-free, although the safest options are ones with "gluten-free" on their label, or even better, certified gluten-free.

If you have a specific Ore-Ida product you're not sure about, please let us know which one that is. I know that they make many products that don't use any gluten ingredients.

Hi Scott,

Yes, I have bad habit of Upper case, won't do that again!

Will look into Ore,ida. Thanks. Also just had endoscopy colonoscopy on medication for the esophagus but Celiac levels are doing great so happy about that except I have microscopic colitis which can come from Celiac but medication will bring that under control enough of doctors for a while.

Just make sure the meds are gluten-free! Yes, some use wheat starch and other ingredients. This list may be helpful for food ingredients:

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
