From their FAQ:

Q: Does LUNA contain gluten?

A: LUNA does contain gluten, the protein that gives bread dough its elasticity. Gluten is found in the rolled oats of the bar.

Thank you so much! New question: Are there any good tasting protein bars that Don't contain gluten and don't have TONS of calories?

"Tons" of calories...The calorie count is directly proportional to the weight of the bar. Fat has *some* more calories than protein or carbohydrates, but it will keep your hunger satisfied longer than a fat-free bar.

There's no free lunch. If you want to seriously cut back on calories, you need to eat less.

My personal opinion is that they all taste like medicine, so I'll leave judgment on tastiness to those who do like these things.

Taste is personal, so you'll have to try them and decide for yourself. The ones that I like (these are CF as well):

~200 calories

Ruth's flax bars (closest to a real granola bar)

'Flax and Seed' Bars

Bumble Bars

~160 calories

Think Organic

Clif Nectar Bars

Lara Bars (some flavors)

F***!! I figured that when the LUNA bars said wheat free, it meant gluten free, too!! Well I learned my lesson. Next time I'll make sure it says GLUTEN FREE. I didn't get sick from it, but I did start feeling panic attacks coming on and I've been getting light headed when I stand up. I had THREE in the past two days...bad me.

Wheat free does not mean gluten free. Wheat is only one of four grains that contain gluten that can make us sick. An item has to be wheat free, barley free, rye free, and oat free for it to be gluten free. Many items that are just wheat free contain one of the other three offending grains.

I tried a Frankly Natural energy bar today - great big "Gluten-free" label on the pack. It was delicious! I tried the apricot and then rushed out and bought 2 of their tropical which I haven't tried yet.

Not sure about low calorie as it is fairly chunky at 100g, which is roughly double the average bar.

Highly recommended.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
