Does anyone know of any gluten free restaurants in Niagra Falls area? Am planning a trip at end of August and would love to take my daughter to some different places. Also, are there any hotels that are gluten free friendly?

Hello - Niagara Falls, ON and NY are both chock full. Which side are you staying on? I live in Niagara, so I can recommend you anything you're interested in.

We're staying on the Canadian side. I went online, looks like a lot to choose from. What are your favorite places? Thanks for the info. Laurie.....

If you are travelling outside of there at all to the close quarters in the area, there are many places, also. There is a really good fresh fish place called Betty's in Chippawa. They are VERY familiar with gluten-free. There is an Outback right near the casino. In St. Catharines, there is the most wonderful place in Port Dalhousie called Spice of Life. That is defnitely my top, top recommendation.

In Niagara on the Lake, every restaurant is fresh to order, so you shouldn't have issues there at all.

I am not sure for hotels, as I live here, but I am sure they will cater to anyone, no problem - especially the higher end ones. Did you want some activity ideas? How old is your daughter?

-another Laurie.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
