Which kind of vitamins do you take? And do you take any other supplements?

I have been taking a Centrum for long time, but I feel like I should be taking something more advanced. I definitely feel like I am lacking minerals and vitamins. I have had really bad posture for so many years. I've done yoga... but I still sit all hunched over. What am I lacking?

I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor soon.

vitamins aren't going to do a lot for your posture - you need to build and use the muscles that maintain good posture. every day, multiple times a day. it takes a lot of work to break the slouching habit. :( (btw, how often did you do yoga? I didn't get much posture benefit at less than 3 times per week, because the your proprioception sense tends to 'forget' the corrections that a teacher gives you for appropriate posture over time.)

I take mineral drops by Liquimins and the ORIGINAL mangosteen supplement. It is SO awesome!!

I also take MSM and other things like calcium, magnesium, blue green algae, CoQ10 [because I'm on a beta blocker].

The last time I did yoga was prenatal yoga 8 months ago. Wow,, time goes fast. I'll probably start up again soon. I only had class once a week. Maybe I'll try and get into a class that offers 2 or 3 times a week. I sit hunched over about 90% of the day. The other 10% is only when I think about how I am sitting and sit up straight until I forget about it. I'll have to keep working at it.

I think I will try those mineral drops. I am also thinking about taking magnesium and calcium. Are there certain brands that are gluten free?

You can try finding some sort of trigger - every half hour a reminder pops up, every time you get an email, every time you're at a stop light... something(s) that happen often - that remind you to fix your posture. There's no way out of simply reminding yourself over and over. Even when you do get better into the habit, you'll have to remind yourself, you'll just be better about reminding yourself. It's all a matter of effort.

If your "posture" has been bad for so many years, you might consider that you have either scoliosis or osteopenia. Have you been checked?

Hi I'm also looking for vitamins that will give me some energy. I have a very active toddler to keep up too.

The mangosteen gives me great energy!

That's a good idea,, to find triggers to help me remember to sit straight... I am going to give it a good try.

I am making a list that I'll bring to my doctor.. I will definetly add scoliosis and osteopenia to it. Thanks!!

      Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.

      Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

      Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

      Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
