HI,

Can anyone tell what brands at grocery stores that carry Ham that is gluten-free that I can make baked ham. Lunch meat that is a little healthier than oscar meyers. Also I have a recipe that calls for boullion...beef and chicken, does anyone have one for those? I really appreciate your help. I did my recipes for the first time for a week and I don't have a clue about these items. I am also new to this group, I have introduced myself but I didn't think I mentioned I can't cook and I am awful in the kitchen so this is all helping me be a better mom in the kitchen for my child with celiac and siblings! Thank you so very much :) !

Hi Marcy, welcome to the board :)

Hormel Cure 81 Hams are gluten-free, as are Cook's Ham. (Both of these brands will list any gluten clearly in the ingredients)

Herb-Ox Boullions are gluten-free.

You'll become a great gluten-free cook in no time! Check out the Recipe forum for tons of great ideas--and don't hesitate to ask any other questions you have.

Thank you so much for the information! I have never heard of Herb OX. I hope our local store carries it. I try to stay away from our whole foods because it isn't as close. I appreciate the vote of confidence too! Marcy

I'm not sure if this is a nationwide brand, but I just received confirmation back from Sugardale Meats. Following is the text of the e-mail:

"The Sugardale Hams, Bacon (including the pre-cooked Bacon), Wieners, Bologna, Cooked Salami, and Dry Sausage items (Pepperoni, Hard Salami and Genoa Salami) are all gluten free. The Dutch Loaf items contain either cracker meal (wheat flour) or barley flour and our Spiced Luncheon Loaf contains barley flour. They would be listed on the ingredient statement as such. Any dusting of packaging materials is done with corn starch."

I was impressed that they thought of mentioning 'dusting of packaging materials'. That is something that I never even thought of before.

Hope this helps,

Tracy

No, Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     I take both of these and a B Complex.

what Benfotiamine should I take as Life Extension contains both Ben and TTFD.

I take both Benfotiamine and TTFD.   You might want to start with the Benfotiamine for a few days and then add in the TTFD.   You can look for NeuroMag (Magnesium Threonate).  A magnesium glycinate is fine, too.  Doctor's Best is a good brand.  Don't take more than 300mg total per day of magnesium or it may have a laxative effect.   Be sure to take the B Complex.  The Benfotiamine and TTFD will need the other B vitamins.

Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine has 100MG of Ben and 25 of Thia..... Do you think this is the one I should take or Objective Nutrients Thiamax (TTFD) which has 100MG Thiamine. How much magnesium should I look for? I take the womens 50+ multivitamin since consumerlabs stated and tested that it has the right amount of vitamins and not too much for men and doesn't have BHT which has shown to cause liver cancer in animals. I was never big with multivitamins as well as doctors I just read when I was first going gluten free to take a multi but I think I will stop them and work on trying the super B Thia and Ben, Mag.

Hi all I’ve been celiac for 4 years now, I’ve done pretty well to avoid it thus far. Last night I took the wrong pizza out of the freezer and ate the whole lot!! The non gluten and gluten pizza boxes are both very similar.   2 hours later I was throwing up violently on my hands and knees over the loo.  .horrendous stomach pains,  My hair was wet from sweat every part of my body was wet. What an awful experience, just had a bad headache today  fortunately.    Is their any products/pills anyone takes if they have realised they have just been glutened to make the symptoms a little less worse.  thanks
