They really did not make me feel 100% so if i really need them its one of those things you take a chance eating. But on the lighter note.... I am a chocolate addict... If chocolate got taken away i would be very sad. Yes I have given up some favorites but I am excited about moving on........You'll rock for Recommendations.. Im check them out.

Dear Ms. Quartieri:

Thank you for contacting us.

Below is the requested information for our regular Moose Munch.

Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee food products we sell as free from peanuts or other allergens. The following disclaimer is added to all ingredient lists: "May contain trace amounts of other nuts or allergens not listed in the ingredients".

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. If we may be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Best Wishes,

Alia H.

Yes, we have one of their stores nearby, and was there recently, as my husband loves their truffles. I was browsing, seeing if there was anything there I could eat, and I noticed that a lot of their items have that allergen statement.

Someone just sent me some Harry and David truffles as part of a craft swap, and I see that CYA disclaimer on the package. I never really know what that means--just that they want to avoid lawsuits, or that they really DO have a big old dirty, messy plant with wheat flour floating all over.

Having spoken with them recently, the reason they do not currently print their specific allergens on packaging is due to the fact that they cannot guarantee 100% flour free environment in all points of their products journey to packaging. Some companies choose to allow a certain amount of gluten to get into their food and still call it gluten free but Harry and David has thus far opted for a policy that only foods that have no potential contact with any gluten can be labeled gluten free. As far as I know, they are working to make this more clear and are certainly aware of the need for more concise ingredient lists for those who cannot process gluten.

Thank you for contacting us.

Harry and David Operations, Inc. is in compliance with the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (Title II of Public Law 108-282) as of January 1, 2006. Harry and David is 100% compliant with the new Act as currently defined.

We have contacted our ingredient suppliers to insure that all ingredients, including gluten-related ingredients, are declared on the label. Therefore, to the best of our knowledge, our labels list all ingredients. Because Gluten is found in wheat and some other grain products we encourage you to read the ingredient information carefully and determine if the product is appropriate for your consumption. Our Moose Munch is unfortunately not gluten free.

If we may be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Best Wishes,

Jessica S.

You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate

Thanks, I’m still dealing with the pain and tingling and itching and feeling like bugs or something crawling around on my face and scalp. It’s been a miserable experience. I saw my eye doc last week, the eye itself was okay, so they didn’t do anything. I did take a 7 day course of an antiviral. I’m hoping for a turnaround soon! My life is full of stress but I have been on / off the gluten free diet for the last year , after being talked into going back on gluten to have a biopsy, that looked okay. But I do have positive antibody levels that have been responsive  to a gluten free diet. I can’t help but wonder if the last year has caused all this.

I don't think any apps are up to date, which is exactly why this happened to you. Most of the data in such apps is years old, and it doesn't get updated in real time. Ultimately there is no substitution for learning to read labels. The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
