Happy April Fools Day!!! Seems like this should be our official Silly Holiday, doesn't it!!!

So this morning, my daughter is wishing everyone a Happy April Fools Day . . . she also wished people "Happy First Day of Spring", "Happy President's Day", Happy GroundHog's Day, etc . . . she's all for any kind of specially named day.

She came up to me and said, "Mom, there's a fish swimming in the sink" . . . without looking up or stopping what I was doing, I said "No there's not. If you want to do it right, you have to say things that are more believable" and she walked away with an "Oh, OK, I get it!" . . . No coddling here!!!! I want her to be successful at deceiving people!!!

She lost her third tooth within a week yesterday. Her smile is quite . . . um . . . gaping? Out of the eight front teeth, she's missing five with only a hint of one of the adult replacement teeth showing. Out of the other three, one is a baby tooth (and wiggly) and two are adult which are firmly and crookedly in place. On top of that, the tooth fairy forgot to come . . . again!!! I'm gonna hafta fire that fairy's arse!!!

Saw this on CNN this morning

Top 10 April Fools jokes for the work place

Placed a pair of pants and shoes inside the only toilet stall in a men's room to make it appear someone was using the stall. It sat there for hours until someone called security to check if the person had died.

2. Sent a fake love note to a co-worker from another co-worker.

3. All the women in office individually spoke to the president, confiding that she is pregnant. By noon, he 'knew' that all of his female workers were pregnant and he could not tell anyone because each asked for confidentially.

4. Called the electric company, used a co-worker's name and told them he was moving so the electricity got turned off at the co-worker's house.

Here I sit at work, finally feeling better....wish I was home though :) Don't we all? Surprisingly warm and thats nice too :) But its rainy and dreary and I wish I was still home.

me too, but we have a male nurse who used to work here....and he told us a gross story once of getting sick and ending up with "d" and no paper....shivers thinking about it.

That must be adorable -- gap-toothed children jus' melt my heart. Gap-toothed seniors, of which there are many at the retirement residence, oddly do not have nearly the same effect on me..... <_<

Thanks Tom, about my sister....yeah, she had a breakdown and was hospitalized last year for several weeks on two separate occasions. I have explained the Celiac link, sent up reams of articles and other information--and to no avail :(

But.......maybe Ptaum isn't really doing it......perhaps THAT was the April fools trick. Maybe he's feeling incredible (gee, it'd be great if this is the case)!

Humaworm....this is a parasitic treatment? Sorry, I've just never had the noive to jump into the OMG thread, with its 2,000 intimidating pages... :rolleyes:

I'm taking an antibiotic, and it did say upon googling that it is most important to NOT drink whilst taking, even for three days after cessation of treatment. So - I stopped the treatment on Friday (had only had two days of treatment). :lol: OMG - - it's very true - you canNOT drink on this stuff. I had not had an extraordinary amount of alcohol......and just start barphing rather quickly. In the cab...on the way home. I opened the door twice, during the very SHORT ride, and just hurled. The poor cab driver was quite worried......and so anywho - I barphed one more time in the hotel. In Jenn's bathroom. :lol:

OMG! what IS this worm-thing about? :unsure: I must read up later.....have to run soon.

but my sillies......I don't know if I got over-tired or glutened or what....but today......I had about a 30-minute crying meltdown. :( There were things that triggered it.....I won't go into detail.......but I am just SO overwhelmed and tired. Need to sleep and eat very healthy food for days. I did not get glutened, insofar as I know, in Vegas......but I haven't had enough veggies and such in the last week - not eating like I normally do.........

I am jsut kind of a mess. And no, not premenstrual. Just finished that, actually. :P

Just bonkers and overwhelmed and crazy and sad. What in hell? :blink:

what is with the month of april? I have not caught up. Do we have many birthdays and anniversaries of Sillies? OMG - my late brother and late father were both in April.....that's all I know.

Have to try and become "normal" again. Whatever in hell that is. :wacko: Travel makes me so out of sorts and out of my routine and.......well.......maybe it's just Vegas. We were walking about, drinks and clove cigarettes in hand, just because we COULD. (please don't yell at me!) :ph34r: Dat place is craaaaaaaaaaaazy and I have to go to church all the time now just to cleanse myself.

but lemme just say (and Peter, you are right, it's SOOOOOO different now), I kept trying all weekend to go to Bellagio and just SEE the lobby - - wanted to go to the museum there and didn't make it - poo! but anywho - - finally at 1:30 in the morning on Sunday night, we made it there (WAY past my bedtime, for Pete's sake).......and Jenn said - - "let me prepare you - it's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, only it's Charlie and the Flower Factory."

And she was so right. It was one of the most magical and amazing lobbies/public places I"ve ever seen........millions and millions of bulbs in bloom, the fragrance of hyacinth heady in the air........quite something. Just magic.

okay - that's it for now.

      I just went ti Sprouts today after we dropped off my grandson at home.The brand Talia I almost bought.i was looking forward and saw that it DOES contain and in Itty bitty small sentence, ( those with sensitive diagetive shouldn't consum.I ALMOST bought, PLEASE READ EVERY LABEL so you don't get glutened!

My father has had some issues with his heart rythym and we found giving him an electrolyte drink plus a vitamin D supplement with extra calcium containing food (yoghurt) made a big difference, and very quickly. My own problems with ectopic heartbeats started up again with warmer weather so I thought I'd take...

      Do you have the standard range for the test results you received? A level of anti-tTG2 antibodies at least 10x the standard range is almost certainly (>98%) due to coeliac disease. Moderately raised levels can be caused by other conditions as well as coeliac disease. Accuracy of the No-Biopsy Approach for the Diagnosis of Celiac Disease in Adults...

      I just thought I'd update this post. My own problems with ectopic heartbeats started up again with warmer weather so I thought I'd take a leaf out of his book, and now, for the second time, after just one Phizz Electrolyte Drink, and a dose of vitamin D (Fultium D 800 x 4) with a milkshake, my ectopics disappeared within the hour.   Probably the Phizz drink rather than the D with calcium, but maybe it all helped?  Just mentioning this in case anyone is looking for answers.

Accuracy of the No-Biopsy Approach for the Diagnosis of Celiac Disease in Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis It is possible to have latent or early stage coeliac disease without histological changes visible by microscope. As has been suggest in this thread, if the repeat test comes up negative and serology is high, request an HLA genetic test from your specialist. Only 40 % of the population carries an HLA gene variant enabling the development of coeliac disease - if you test negative for this, it is quite unlikely that you have coeliac disease.

I once saw an interview with a corporation executive where he proudly declared that his wheat products are more addictive than potato chips. Dr Fuhrman (Eat to Live) said find foods that are friendly to you to be friends with.

      Hi @CC90 Ah... that is very interesting.  Although it is very annoying for you to have to go through it all again, I would say that almost sounds like an admission that they didn't look far enough last time?   I could be wrong, but I would not be at all surprised if they find something on the next attempt.  Coeliac damage can be very patchy, as I understand it, so that's why my own gastroenterologist always likes to point out that he's taken lots of samples!  In the kindest possible way (you don't want to upset the person doing the procedure!) I'd be inclined to tell them what happened last time and to ask them in person to take samples lower down, as  if your health system is anything like the one in my country, communication between GPs, consultants and hospitals isn't always very good.  You don't want the same mistake to be made again. You say that your first endoscopy was traumatic?  May I ask, looking at your spelling of coeliac, was this done at an NHS hospital in England?  The reason for the question is that one of my NHS diagnosed friends was not automatically offered a sedative and managed without one.  Inspired by her, I tried to have an endoscopy one time, in a private setting, without one, so that I could recover quicker, but I had to request sedative in the end it was so uncomfortable.    I am sorry that you will have to go through a gluten challenge again but to make things easier, ensure you eat things containing gluten that you will miss should you have to go gluten free one day. 😂 I was told to eat 2 slices of normal wholemeal bread or the equivalent every day in the weeks before , but I also opted for Weetabix and dozens of Penguin chocolate biscuits.  (I had a very tight headache across my temple for days before the procedure, which I thought was interesting as I had that frequently growing up. - must have been a coeliac symptom!)  Anyway, I do hope you soon get the answers you are looking for and do keep us posted. Cristiana
