Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone had a good recipe to make homemade pizza crust. I am hoping to make it soon and can't seem to find anything that looks that good.

Thanks

I am from Chicago, and therefore have HIGH standards when it comes to pizza crust. I have attempted many gluten-free pizza crust recipes. To date, the best I have found is using Pamela's Wheat-Free Bread Mix. It has a pizza crust recipe on the package, and I think it is great. The only thing that I changed is this: It says to pat the crust down with your hands oiled. DO NOT DO THAT!! It makes the crust thick and heavy, yuck! I pat it down with any gluten-free flour blend, and make sure you give it plenty of time to rise (I think the recipe calls for an hour.). Also, you have an option of adding cheese to the crust mix. Whatever the proportion, I add half parmesan and half mozzarella. I tell you, I am quite picky, and I have found this to be the very best. Give it a try. Nancy

I have purchased the Gluten Free Pantry French Bread and Pizza mix, but I have not tried it yet. It was suggested to me by someone in my local support group and she said her kids love it. She said it makes a lot. She also mentioned that it is very sticky so she uses Pam and plastic wrap to shape it. She said, too, that she will roll out several crusts and put plastic wrap between them and freeze.

@trents I am really not sure lol. I had a doctor who quit with no notice from 2 different practices and I was her patient both times, I just remember her telling me to take it. I guess for the dysphasia or Barrettes Esophagus? I have been taking it for years

@Charlie1946, what are you taking omeprazole for and how long have you been on it?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. I couldn’t find another discussion about it. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis a couple of years ago after having been asymptomatic for celiac for decades. I ignored the celiac diagnosis because I had no issues, but I was ignorant to the long term damage. I am still asymptomatic, but after years of eating gluten I am now strictly gluten free. The osteoporosis has been improving after taking Fosamax the last couple of years. My question is…..has my body returned to normal bone production on its own now that it is not influenced by gluten? A new problem has surfaced. I have to stop taking Fosamax due to a vascular issue which requires me to take a daily aspirin. The aspirin mixed with Fosamax will increase the chance of internal bleeding and ulcers so I need to turn to Reclast, which I’m trying to avoid. I’m turning to you all to see if anyone knows if there is a chance that my body is back to normal bone production since it is not exposed to gluten. I’m going to ask my doctor if I can stop the Fosamax and take the aspirin until my bone scan next year. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I was replying to Charlie1946's most recent post where she asked the question if Omeprazole was the right thing to take.
