HI, I'm starting a new Michigan thread.

There is a coop in East Lansing. It's on Norhtwind drive, off of Grand River. If you'd want more specific directions, e mail me and I'll get the for you. Also there is a bakery called Piece of Cake on Northwind. She makes gluten-free foods on Tuesdays. It's well worth it and it even tastes great.

Hi! I'm from Grand Rapids. Have you been to the Piece of Cake bakery for many products and would this be worth the drive on Tuesdays?

HI, Surely I would give some things a try from A Piece of Cake. I've had bread, pie crust, yummy snacks, cupcakes, etc. I went looking around to see their list of things and I did find it. If you'd like I can send it to you. E mail me at hapy4dolphins@yahoo.com and I can get the right out to you. They do offer shipping too.

A word of caution on A Piece O Cake... they do their baking on Tuesday for Pickup on Wednesday so if you drive out there on a Tuesday you will be sadly disappointed. You will also be disappointed if you expect to go there and have items ready to pickup, they are strictly made-to-order: place your order by 10:30 tuesday for pickup anytime on Wednesday...

Sidebar- the food co-op next door is GREAT! I used to love going over there and grabbing fresh fruit etc on my lunch. The selection isn't that great, but they sometimes have great deals on my favorite item....Amy's Mac n Cheese!

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
