Ok We're Back From The Specialist...

William did well with the biopsy and scope. The doctor took multiple samples from different areas of his stomach and intestines and stuff. He said he couldn't see anything wrong but that doesn't mean anything really... William wasn't all thrilled about everything but he did great so we took him to Toys R Us and let him pick out a new toy... LOL! The Dr said the results should be in over the weekend probably and he is on call so if he can get them and review them he might give us a call but since it is a holiday weekend it might not be till Tues when we actually get the results. The feeding test though worked... Yesterday he was fine all day because Wednesday he had a completely gluten-free diet... Yesterday we had him eat gluten and this morning he threw up... So after he could eat again we have gone back to gluten-free with him to see if that helps and the doctor said that in itself is a pretty good indication that he probably is celiac disease.

Anyway thought I would post an update. I have been awake since 4am and am just dead!!! So I am heading off to relax now.

Congratulations, William! It's great that you can now get him on a gluten-free diet.......now, assuming that he has celiac disease, he can start to heal.....

      Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

      Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

      Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.

      It's most likely going to be a celiac disease diagnosis based on your blood test results, but wait for your doctor to give you a green light for going gluten-free, as they may want to do additional testing. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
