I need a really good allergist in Sacramento or Roseville areas in CA. This would be for 2 children under age 12.

We've got a great pediatric GI..Dr Davies....but we need an allergist for some additional testing.

Please email me.

thanks.

Janel

My daughter sees Dr. Davies too.

As for an Allergist, I go to Dr. Sunil Perera in Roseville. He is right across from the mall on Ravine Rd.

I love him! He has actually done more for me than most of the many doc's I have seen in the past 11/2 yrs.

Also, after my 6 y/o was diagnosed we asked for a referral to a Pedi Endocrinologist, so we see Dr. G. Prakasam of the Children's Specialists Group. He is also incredible. He is very in the know about celiac disease b/c he comes from England. celiac disease testing there is so routine, it's like immunizations.

His # 916-733-0888

I have neurological disorders most likely r/t celiac disease - Do you know a neurologist??? I am on my 4th!!!

Take care

Oh my gosh!!! Dr. Davies is my kids' ped GI too! She's great. You're in good hands. I don't know of an allergist though.

And Jacqui - I live in Antelope too. I'm off Poker and Don Julio, near the Kohl's. But I'm moving to Folsom next Friday. AAARRRGGG!!!

I've been a Roseville (area) girl most of my life. Making the move to Folsom is making me kind of sad. My husband works out there and the commute has gotten to be too much.

I also had what I can only assume were neurological issues. I could barely walk due to pain and I was having slurred speech by the time I went gluten-free. Scary stuff. I hope you're doing better.

BTW, if anyone in the area knows someone who wants to buy a house in Antelope, let me know... ;)

Nancy

Isn't it a small world......I too live extremely close to you Nancy about a mile or so from Kohls. Wow......bummer you are moving to Folsom, good thing Davies has an office out there too.

Good luck selling your house! I'd love to upgrade to a bigger house but we are kinda stuck where we are based on the market.

Totally small world!!! Who would'a thought huh? I don't know if you've talked to Jacqui, but it turns out she and I live within 1/4 mile of each other. We'll have to get together every once in a while.

I'll PM you sometime in the next few days. I've got to clean my house before I go to bed just in case someone calls wanting to look at the house. Not fun. But it is kind of cool to wake up to a clean house.

Welcome to the forum, @Ben98! If you have been consciously or unconsciously avoiding gluten because of the discomfort it produces then it is likely that your blood antibody testing for celiac disease has been rendered invalid. Valid testing requires regular consumption of generous amounts of gluten. The other strong possibility is that you have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which shares many of the same symptoms with celiac disease but does not have the autoimmune component and thus does not damage the small bowel lining. It is 10x mor common than celiac disease. There is currently no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out. Some experts in the field believe it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Having one or both of the primary genes for developing celiac disease does not imply that you will develop active celiac disease. It simply establishes the potential for it. About 40% of the population has the genetic potential but only about 1% develop active celiac disease.

TTG blood test and total IGA tested on many occasions which have always remained normal, upper GI pain under my ribs since 2022. I had an endoscopy in 2023 which showed moderate gastritis. no biopsy’s were taken unfortunately. genetic test was positive for HLADQ2. extreme bloating after eating gluten, it’ll feel like I’ve got bricks in my stomach so uncomfortably full. the pain is like a dull ache under the upper left almost like a stitch feeling after a long walk. I am just wanting some advice has anyone here experienced gastritis with a gluten issue before? thank you

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶
