I am needing to know if it is common for reflux to get worse in kids. Our 1 year old had reflux when he was a newbie...it got better, but since October it has been getting worse and worse...he has thrown up 11 times in the past 3 days. I am convinced it is not a stomach bug or a virus..He can not keep anything down now...not even the reflux meds. No fevers or no D. He seems to be fine other than the constant throwing up. IS THIS NORMAL???

We have an appointment today with the ped....but I do not want to be told let's just wait and see if this gets better...I have WAY too much going on with child #3 to wait and see how #4 does. I will probably end up crying in his office! And I HATE to cry in public!

Anyone have ANY advice??

I'm so sorry you and your baby are going through all of this. I'm sorry I don't have any advice, other than checking for hidden gluten and making sure things like soap, shampoo, lotions, are gluten-free. (Have you checked your cosmetics too?).

I hope you get some answers at your appt.

It is such a shame that children have to go through this kind of thing, and so hard on the mothers. I sure hope that things get better soon.

I know with acid reflux we are told as adults not to lay down until two hours after eating or drinking. That is really hard to do with a baby. I sure hope that you get some help and not just told to wait.

      New labs are now very elevated

      Hello, I was very stick, with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel. Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change? What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?...

      This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to...

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
