Does Anyone's Throat Burn If They Eat Something They Shouldn't?

I'm not supposed to have nightshades - tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant and green peppers. I know I'm not supposed to have them but my reaction isn't like it is to gluten so I do cheat sometimes. If I eat a massive amount I will get a stomach ache and D, but I usually have to eat like a whole bowl of spaghetti sauce to have a problem. Tomatoes are especially hard because I love salsa and tomato sauce and there really isn't a substitute for those things.

So, when I eat something with one of those items my throat immediately starts burning. I had some baked beans the other day and there is tomato in the sauce and my throat burned the entire time I ate them. It is almost like a warning signal. If only my body did that with gluten I would never get glutened because I would know it whatever I was eating was contaminated.

Does this happen to anyone else?

One of the first reactions I get is almost immediate (when I ingest gluten). My throat starts to burn, and it get really hard to swallow. I know then that I am in trouble!

I have a lot of allergies, and throat/mouth burning/itchiness/tingling is most often how I know if I've eaten something I shouldn't. With some foods, the reaction basically stops there although I sometimes get a few hives too. With other foods, I might develop other symptoms . . . in the worst case scenario, vomiting/nausea, involuntary gagging, major breathing difficulties, face swelling . . .

So, yeah, I take throat tingling as a warning sign. I'd suggest going to an allergist for testing. I know that some folks can have a pretty severe tomato allergy. If it is an IgE mediated allergy, the reaction can be unpredictable.

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
