where do i stand with drinking beer? I know someone who is wheat intolerant and he drinks Budweiser. Does anyone know?

No you can not have beer or malt liquor. Beer and Malt liquors are made with barley and or wheat. There are gluten free beers around, Redbridge is the one made by the same folks as bud.

Some also avoid gluten grain derived distilled or hard liquors, I am one.

Redbridge beer is pretty good. There is a list under "forbidden" foods that tells you which alcohol os ok and which isn't. just go to the home page on this site and scroll down....you'll see it. When I first found I needed to be gluten-free, I printed off the lists....I take them shopping with me....so I know what to look for in ingredients!

If you go to the Redbrige site: www.redbridgebeer.com, you can type in your zip code and it will give you a list of places near you where you can buy it!!!!

Thanks im on the way there now, gluten free beer im willing to try anything once.

Alas :( the no beer aspect of the gluten-free diet was particulary hard for my hubby in the beginning.

You can get gluten-free beer in some of the larger Asda stores in the free from aisle but cheap it ain't !! :rolleyes: (around

gluten-free beers in the US, I've had all 4 of these! Ranked in order of what I liked the best. The Honey Beer from Rampo Valley was good at first, but after a few I started to lose interest. Thought I do love Bards Take and New Grist. Not really a fan of Redbridge. Never really was a fan of those expensive lite beers like Coors and so on(I liked the cheap lite bears, Pabst/Hamms)

Here's an international site about this,(Warnings this is the UK, and gluten free ppm(parts per million) levels are different, so some that may be called gluten-free might not be thought of as gluten-free in the US, for good reason....)

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
