Cookbook - 366 Dairy/egg-free Recipes

I found a good cookbook at the library, published in 1997.

366 Simply Delicious Dairy-Free Recipes by Robin Robertson

There are recipes for soups, salads, entrees, pizzas, vegetables, casseroles, and desserts. Although this is not a gluten-free cookbook, most of the recipes do not include flour or if they do, one could easily sub a G.F. flour for thickening. Of course, for the pizzas, you'd want to used your tried-and-true G.F. pizza crust recipe.

None of the recipes include eggs or milk products. She uses soy or nut milks (with directions on how to make them yourself), and tofu to make sauces. I have used homemade cashew cheese* in casseroles before, and I would think this would work as well.

With my several food allergies, it is unusual to find so many recipes in one cookbook that I can use or easily adapt. I am especially pleased to find some "creamy" salad dressings (I really miss Ranch). I am not a vegetarian, but I do eat lots of vegetables, so this kind of cookbook is great for good recipes for veggies.

* Cashew cheese - do a search here on the word - cashew - for some really good cashew cheese and mayonaise recipes.

      I was just diagnosed at 26 after accidental finding. Any simple tips for newbies? Things a non celiac would never think of? I already went through my prescriptions and identified some medications that have gluten. Is there a beginners guide? Celiac for dummies?

      Wow! Thank you @trents I  really appreciate the responses. This line of diagnosis has me questioning a lot of symptoms over the course of my life. Very validating and very much a bummer at the same time.

      Yep, you've got celiac disease. That is a high score. In the U.K. you could have been diagnosed on the TTG-IGA score alone and not needed an endoscopy/biopsy. But I realize your physicians were not looking for celiac disease in the first place. But it also makes me wonder how much of your bowel issues are tied to celiac disease whose onset may actually have been years ago. Taking years to get a celiac diagnosis after onset is typical because the symptoms mimic so many other bowel diseases and many of us have "silent" celiac for years, meaning we have no or few symptoms until damage the small bowel lining becomes quite advanced and other symptoms, e.g. iron deficiency anemia, start showing up.
