Corn/wheat/gluten Allergy

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I am beginning to wonder if I have certain food alergies. I want to test a few specific allergies: corn, gluten, and wheat. I specificly think corn :( Unfortunately since corn is in just about everything Im miserable. Does any one know what specific blood tests would need to be done to determine or eliminate corn, gluten, or wheat allergies? I live 145 miles from the nearest allergy specialist, so my doctor said if they could find specific blood tests to check these out she would order them. I would be greatful for any one's assistance in this matter.

I'm not sure about blood tests. Celiac you can do a blood test for because it's autoimmune so your body produces antibodies, but allergies are a different reaction. The other problem is that you might have an allergy or you might have an intolerance/autoimmune reaction (I can't remember which is which - one is IgA, another IgE - someone here will know). I'm not allergic to wheat so an allergy test would come up negative, but I am most certainly intolerant/autoimmune reaction to wheat. An elimination diet would be the best way to test for both of these reactions, although I know how frustrating an elimination diet can be. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Rebecca.

I was tested for 96 different food sinsitivities. I tested sensitive to 21 of them. I used Altess Medical Laboratory out of Rockland, Ma. Their website is Open Original Shared Link

Your doctor can draw the blood and send it to them. They will send you the kit and instructions.

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
