Anyone From Atlanta Area?

Harrisgirl Newbie

I was diagnosed about 2 weeks ago with Celiac, also hae to stay away for Soy and Dairy (Casien). My husband and I moved to GA about a year and a half ago. I would love to hear from anyone near Atlanta to understand more about what I need to do- how to help my husband understand-and how to make this a positive change for him too. ;)

Looking forward to meeting new friends!

I was born and raised in Atlanta. I will be moving back there as soon as I finish my degree.

I was diagnosed about a year ago. Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk!

I'm newly diagnosed and live in Atlanta as well. I'm also struggling a little, especially with getting my husband and friends to understand...so I can't help you there...but I'm here if you need someone to commiserate with. :)

BTW, does anyone know a good dietitian with experience in Celiac disease in the ATL area?

I'm gluten intolerant and in Atlanta, as well . . . also allergic to dairy, soy, and eggs. But I've adjusted pretty well by (most of the time) focusing on the beauty of what still is available within these limitations. I blog about it at Open Original Shared Link if any of you are interested in recipes, insights, etc., from a local girl. :)

Hi All...I'm in Atlanta too! Actually Marietta but I work in a hospital in Atlanta. Originally from New Orleans and moved here 10 yrs ago.

I am going to see Dr. Jagiella on 8/31. She is a celiac specialist (or at least sees all of the celiac pts in the pratice.) She was recommended on the Atlanta celiac website as well.

I'm new to all of this but I'm here if anyone wants to compare notes!!!

See y'all around the board!

I formerly lived in Atanta (Marietta) for eleven years and still visit 2x every year to see my GI doctor (Dr. Rudert) and family. My husband and I live on the west coast of Florida and I am originally from Savannah. I am always looking for other gluten sensitive or Celiac friends to meet/have lunch with when I visit Atlanta. Do you live on the north side of town? I usually stay in the perimeter area when I visit my doctor.

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
