Land O Lakes Vanilla Ice Cream?

Is Land O Lakes Vanilla Ice Cream gluten free? I had some last night and my head is just pounding that is a gluten reaction for me. I don't usually buy that brand but it was the only one the store had so I tried it. Otherwise I am trying to figure out what else I ate that could have done this. Thanks!

Anyone use this?

If they have a phone number on the label it might be best to call them. I went to their website and they do seem to be quite celiac friendly, they even have a page of gluten free recipes and it appears they are selling a gluten-free baking mix. Unfortunately I couldn't find any info at all about the ingredients in the ice cream.

This is all of nearly 8 years later.  But the website fooducate.com can give you ingredient and nutrition information on many grocery store products.  You can also google search "what vanilla ice creams are gluten free" or "is land of lakes ice cream gluten free"; this should redirect several search options that might lead to a good answer.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
