Black-bottom Banana Bars

Hey guys - new member here! I've been gluten/wheat free since January and am feeling 110% better since!

So, I have some ripe bananas at home and would like to make the Black-Bottom Banana Bars that are posted here: https://www.celiac.com/articles/832/1/Black...Free/Page1.html. The only problem I'm having is that I'm not sure which gluten-free Flour Mix the recipe is refering to as the link takes you back to the main page.

I have two mixes at home: Bette Hagmans mix and Carol Fensters mix - would either of these work fine in this recipe? I'm just hoping that she didn't use one with a bunch of different flours as I live in a small town and it's hard to get "exotic flours" (that's what ppl call them here), and when you do they cost you both arms and legs.

If you could give me a little help here I'd be grateful! Thanks!! :)

Hi and welcome :)

I have not made that recipe (it looks delicious) but I'm sure that either one of your flour mixtures would work fine in it.

Happy baking :D

I would also say either one. I use Carol's most of the time, its healthier than Featherlite, Hagman' gluten-free mix and I don't care for bean flour(Hagman uses all 3) I just used Carol's in brownies and a chocolate cake in the last 2 weeks.

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
