my familie is off to get fries from some place but i know fries are gluten free but not if other food is also baked in the baking oil what to do?can it be that there doesnt come any gluten in it or not?

also is mayonaise gluten free or not?

PLAIN fries cooked in a dedicated fryer are usually OK unless handled by someone who has previously handled a bun. SEASONED fries are usually NOT OK.

Most mayonnaise is OK until someone sticks the knife back into the jar while making a sandwich. You need your own jar or at least one of those upside down squeeze bottles.

McDonald's fries may or may not be safe. These are very controversial. We do not eat them because they contain not only wheat but dairy and we are allergic.

Also, fries are not usually baked in restaurants. They are fried. Other things that might be fried in that oil could cause contamination. As the other poster stated, seasoned fries are usually not gluten-free. I have also seen some fries that are battered. Beer battered fries are becoming more popular here. They would not be gluten-free either.

Chick Fil A fries are safe - just make sure you ask the manager to verify that only the fries were cooked in the oil. I asked at the Chick Fil A that I go to and the are safe.... the manager and owner made me feel very confident that nothing else touches the oil.

Watch out for chick fil A. They fry their fries in peanut oil. Luckily I looked them up online before going there.

If you're okay with peanuts, then pig out! They look good.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

      Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
