Yoki Pan De Queso Cheese Bread Mix

I just happened to see this in the Hispanic section of Giant Eagle grocery store! It says gluten-free in big letters on the front--but it's a mainstream product, not specialty, so it's reasonably priced (there's a new concept for us!).

It's a manioc starch (tapioca)-based mix, and it makes about 20-22 little puffy rolls that are delicious! And they're absolutely perfect for appetizers, or tiny sandwiches for picky little eaters.

And it's super-easy--add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup water, mix, and shape into little balls and bake!

They're imported from Brazil by Triunfo foods--I didn't check, but I wonder if you could order them in bulk from the importer? You could probably ask your local market to get you a case of them.

Wheeeeee!!!! :D

Sounds like a real winner to me...I will keep my eye out for them...and cheaper...wow!

(your "little puffy rolls" comment got to me)

I haven't seen this in the stores here, but I will definitely look. I make them from scratch all the time and they are easy and not too expensive. I wonder if the mix would be cheaper than the tapioca flour from the HF store.

Isnt it basically Chebe bread except the real stuff the use in Brazil.

I really like these hot from the oven and was surprised to see them gluten free. If you let them get cold they lose some of their chew and flavor, but a little trip to the microwave brings them right back. I saw a 24pack sold on Amazon for about $48 (so $2 a pack) but it looked like the quantity was limited. The local grocery had them at a little more than $3 a pack (still reasonable), but I wonder if the specialty store has them cheaper.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
