Intense Stomach Pain/nausea

I'm so frustrated. I've been on Gluten-free Casein-free diet for almost 5 weeks, and I feel like my symptoms are worse! I know that healing is a process, but my doctor told me I could expect some relief w/in 4-6 weeks. I think the past week and a half have been the worst I've felt in a long time. I've always had some nausea and stomach pain, in addition to bloated stomach, belching, etc. But the nausea and pain have been very intense. It is interfering with my ability to think clearly and I was so worn out from feeling this way that I started to lose my voice one day last week.

I've been on a two-day rotation diet based on my ImmunoLab results for about 5 weeks. Positive for: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, green pepper, kidney bean, cow's milk, cheese, wheat, barley, rye, oat, egg, cranberry, baker's yeast, brewer's yeast. I am very careful about my diet and always read labels before eating something. I haven't eaten out and always prepare my own food.

Hi Cici,

I understand your frustration. I am like you, I was ANAL with my diet and I felt rotten for a long time. I am just now starting to have some really good days without symptoms. 5+ months. So hang on. It will get better.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
