How Long For Results For Your Kid?

I am wondering if people could give me an idea when they saw improvement in their kid on the diet. Luke is df/cf. I started him on 10/7- today is day 5. Bowel movements has been down to 1 a day (I think the first time ever). First day it was pretty well normal. Then 2 days of a real messy stool. Yesterday was slightly lose and today was entirely normal!!! His sleep has still been disturbed though, lots of talking and tossing and turning. His appetite has been good.

The thing concerning me the most though is his behavior. He has been atrocious. I don't know how else to say it, he has been NASTY, especially to his little sister, very physical. Also, seems to be having depression issues still. Today he went on again about how he wants to be a new boy and held a knife to his wrist. Seriously. On day 2 he got some gum w/ a milk derivative and yesterday found 1 peanut m&m and had it ate before I could stop him.

I know it showed up as him being gluten and casein intolerant, but I am wondering if there are other issues as well. However, I want to be sure what food is causing what issues.

I had never even heard of gluten before I did a lot of praying Thursday night and the first word on my mind was gluten on Friday morning.

Well, after much googling with my son's symptoms and the words gluten--I think I found my answer. Within 3 days of being gluten-free free, it's like I have a new son.

I tagged your thread because my son's name is also Luke and his behavior is exactly like your Luke's. MY DS is 13. I have read on some other threads about behavior and gluten and some posters share that their child's behavior sometimes takes a turn for the worse at the beginning of the diet.

I see that your posting is a couple of weeks old, so I hope that he is feeling better.

Hugs

From their website I see "organic barley leaf powder" as an ingredient. Keep in mind that the gluten is in the kernel, and not in the leaves. https://drinkag1.com/about-ag1/ingredients/ctr

Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.

Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to rib pain. Chest pain stemming from the ribs ccould be costochondritis, which involves inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone. This pain can range from mild to severe, potentially mimicking heart attack symptoms, and is often worsened by breathing or movement. Other potential causes include muscle strain, rib fractures, or even referred pain from other conditions.  It will also help to chose vegetables low in omega 6.
