Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any good experiences/reccomendations for eating gluten-free at Foxwoods Casino in CT. I am going next month, and it's the first time since I have been diagnosed that I have gone. It is hard to get in touch with the individual restaurants there for some reason, but so far I have talked to someone at Craftsteak and they are going to be able to accomodate me which is great, and I was able to score a refridgerator for free for my actual hotel room for deli meats/milk (cereal) etc. but was curious if anyone has any other reccomendations for places to eat at there, specifically for quick bites/lunch or breakfast.

I am waiting to hear back from Veranda Caf

I have had great experiences at Cedar's Steakhouse. They definitely know what they're doing and the food is excellent! I'm going next month too. Good luck!

Thanks Mtn for the info!!

I'm psyched to go back to Foxwoods, it has been way too long. Three hours away seems alot closer than it is when you consider staying over and all that if you want to enjoy yourself with some drinks and stay late, so we never get there. The MGM @ Foxwoods is doing $63 week day specials right now which is amazing considering the usual rooms there are $200-$300 at least.

But anyways, I am excited to say that the executive chef at Foxwoods replied to my email today and said that they could make me a gluten free omelet at the Veranda Cafe and would make sure to have a clean pan that has not been touched by gluten to make it for me for the morning I am there. I have emailed him back and asked for any other menu items at Veranda and/or other restaurants in general at Foxwoods that he could recommend for when I go for quick bites for breakfast/lunch.

I also am even more pleased to say that my wife called Craftsteak back to make the actual reservations and they noted down that I have Celiacs and when she called back about a cake for someone who we are celebrating their birthday down there they immediately, without my wife having to say anything, noted that they had me down as having Celiacs on the reservations etc. and were going to look into if I would be able to have the ice cream they serve with the cake, so they are on top of things there. I guess the ice cream is made by the chef there, so it doesn't sound promising considering cross contamination etc., but it was just very nice to see them being proactive. I'm not a big desert person anyways, so no biggie, like I said it was more just nice to see them being attentive.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
