I'm Also Allergic To Corn And Soy...help!

I've pretty much gotten corn, soy, tomatoes (also allergic to blah) and gluten out of my diet...But cosmetics and body lotions and washes and all that is almost harder. I have NO idea what to use. I thought I would check here and see if anyone could help before I start calling companies like crazy. I'm just afraid I will find nothing!! The problem is the soy and gluten combination is hard. And I a skin rash (kp I beleive) all over my arms, upper back and legs that will not go away.

Also, finding vitamins is a pain as well. Something without corn, soy, and gluten is always more expensive. Especially at GNC which is the only place I know that labels when it's not in it. Does anyone know any other place that makes finding vitamins a little easier?

Thanks :)

Would you mind sharing some of the food products that you consume? I have the same allergies that you have (plus a whole load of others, like eggs, dairy, certain animal proteins etc etc), and I have the hardest time finding products like milks, cereals, and things of the sort. I'd love to compare notes!

I hope I can help with the vitamins. I was told my nutritionist who also has celiac disease that NatureMade vitamins are gluten-free, and I even called and confirmed.

Also, I believe Dove is supposed to be gluten-free. You might want to check.

Good luck!

yeah. I have been ordering from the online gluten free store, but I also go to a lot of stores like trader joes and whole foods to find the same foods. I like to eat fruit bars. There's the George Delights fruit bars, and they have some at target. They are usually just fruit. And there's dried fruits. My favorites are the Sensible Snacks. I put a lot of fruit stuff like that in my purse so I always have a snack with me incase i'm with someone that wants to eat and I can't eat a lot or I get hungry. If I don't have it with me to eat I may get so hungry I eat something I know I shouldn't have.

I also like the Enjoy Life brand cookies and stuff. It's expensive, but I don't have a kitchen (I kind of share one but can't use it much) and that way I can have cookies. They keep away from the 8 main allergies including dairy and egg.

For actual meals I've pretty much been eating a lot of rice. I'll add steamed veggies and plain meat to it.

I eat A LOT of fruit. And I try to get a lot of veggies. I make sure that the fridge is filled with them.

The cereal I've started eating is Perky's Nutty Flax Gluten-Free Cereal. At first I thought it was terrible but I now actually like it.

I assume you use rice milk?? I eat SO MUCH rice. I used to eat rice milk and may go back because I think I might have a dairy problem. Rice cakes, actual rice, rice milk...lots of rice. I also like potatoes but try to not eat them so much because I eat so much rice already and it makes me really thirsty and I can't combine the two.

Sorry this is so randomly written and long. Do you cook? Do you have any recipes you like?

Here's a link to a mainstream grocery shopping guide - they have a couple different ones, this one is Gluten-Casein-Soy Free.

I have the gluten-free one, don't know how I ever got along without it.

For skin/hair products etc., you might search this forum for the word Neutrogena. I recently saw a posting of a huge list of their stuff that is gluten-free. You could always call or email them as well. There's more safe stuff out there than you realize, so don't panic.

I've found it hard to find something that also doesn't have soy. Everyone seems to be putting soy in everything, even beauty products. What a pain.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.

Your post demonstrates the profound frustration and isolation that so many in the Celiac community feel, and I want to thank you for channeling that experience into advocacy. The medical gaslighting you endured for decades is an unacceptable and, sadly, a common story, and the fact that you now have to "school" your own GI specialist speaks volumes about the critical lack of consistent and updated education. Your idea to make Celiac Disease a reportable condition to public health authorities is a compelling and strategic one. This single action would force the system to formally acknowledge the prevalence and seriousness of the disease, creating a concrete dataset that could drive better research funding, shape medical school curricula, and validate the patient experience in a way that individual stories alone often cannot. It is an uphill battle, but contacting representatives, as you have done with Adam Gray, is exactly how change begins. By framing it as a public health necessity—a matter of patient safety and protection from misdiagnosis and neglect—you are building a powerful case. Your voice and your perseverance, forged through thirty years of struggle, are exactly what this community needs to ensure that no one else has to fight so hard just to be believed and properly cared for.
