So Hungry

I suffer from INSANE hunger when glutened! The tiniest speck of gluten will throw my off into a food binge fest for 2 days. I can eat the entire refrigerator, times 2, and still feel like I need to eat :/. All I can think of is eating.. Sometimes its so bad I dont even care WHAT kind of food it is or how it tasts, I just need food and it goes in without much chewing. Then I feel terrible, bloated, etc... A few days later this passes and everything is back to "normal".

I got glutened yesterday, and today I've been eating NON STOP. My belly is nice and puffed out, and my entire digestive tract feels stuffed with food but I still feel the need to eat! I HATE this so much :(.

If this happens to you, how do you cope? I try so hard sometimes not to eat but its soooooo hard :(. Do you give in and eat when this happens?? Do anything to control it?

Would love to hear your stories!

This does happen to me. I have recently wrote on here about my terrible experience when I was glutened over a month ago now. I have been so bloated ever since, and I'm hungry ALL THE TIME. I look in th mirror, and feel so fat, yet all I can think about is my next meal. It's extremely difficult because I also have issues with eating disorders. I have try and keep myself occupied so I don't think about food so much, and I try to drink a lot of water at night so I feel full. Thank goodness I am finally starting to feel a little better though. I don't think I will EVER gluten myself on purpose again.

I am not sure this will help but i get really hungry too. I find steak cures my hunger pains. Eat lots of protein. I am not sure why but it works for me.

This is one of my main symptoms. I eat and eat. Even if I feel very full I'm still chasing food! I don't let myself feel guily about it. I allow myself to eat all the safe food I crave. You'll make yourself miserable trying to resist the base needs of your body.

I like to make a big pot of chicken and rice noodle soup. It's not heavy on calories but the noodles make it feel like comfort food. I also drink a lot of tea. I agree that protein really helps.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't choose to get glutened and the symptom is beyond your control. You will have a long life to concern yourself with your weight.

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
