Two Experiments

Two things..

First, has anyone hear done the mangosteen routine? My niece is on it and claims that it works wonders for her..The drawback is that it is expensive and 4 bottles will cost $115...The minute she goes off of it she has troubles. She is one with diarrhea symptoms while I get constipated..Maybe it works for her. My wallet hopes it won't cure me.

I did a google search on it and one doctor was suspicious of its extroadinary claims (everything from colds to cancer is supposed to be arrested). I have suspicions as well but she is getting results and maybe it has possibilities for the gut? Anyone here heard of it? I'm holding off until I try a few other things..

Second, on the complete cheap side, I am conducting an experiment involving the boiling of soup bones for over 24 hours until the marrow forms into a gel..You then can throw it in the fridge and are to consume about 3 tablespoons a day..Consume everything before 5 days run out or freeze it to last longer..

Anyone done the second one? I'll be done cooking it in about 3 hours...kind of a drag waiting for it but I'll let you know in a few days if it has any substance to the claims...A doctor who runs his own health store ( quite a rarity) recommended it.

Right now I can't take in any solid foods until tomorrow..I got gluted last night by a HCL capsule..Maltodextrin in the capsule covering...I forgot to read the label...Nothing to eat or drink until the bowel unobstructs ( nine hours), then I do a 3 liquid meal day for today..Oh well..Long walks help a lot on recovery days...

blueshift,

What are the claims about bone marrow gel?

You might be able to get the extract using a slow cooker so you aren't tethered to the house while your bones boil.

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.

This is not standard when looking for celiac disease.  Is it CT enterography? That type of CT can be used when looking for Crohn’s disease or IBD.  CT will see more of the small intestine than can be seen during an endoscopy, as well as the large intestine.

Is it normal for you to have a CT with contrast as well as endoscopy with biopsy. When being diagnosed.
