My lists said MaltoDextrin is gluten-free, but I read on the forum that someone was saying it is not, this stuff is in everything and we have been giving foods with it to my son. Any thoughts?

Does anyone eat at Donatos? They make a low carb pizza made of soy, I emailed them to find out some info but they were pretty non-descript with it, has anyone ever checked this out?

Maltodextrin in the US is safe unless it states on the label. This is for all companies..not just some...it's a rule in the US.

It is different with medications though so you have to check with that but as for food it will be safe unless stated :D

I saw that someone had a reaction to it while taking it in a medication, thanks that is good news!

Checked with my health food store guy who is a celiac and he checked on the internet and there was a controversy when he googled it. It can be made of wheat, corn or rice, so it is something to be wary of. You would have to call the manufacturer of the maltodexitrim in that product to be sure of what it is made of.

It can be made of things other then corn BUT in the US they have a rule they MUST follow and they will put on the label if it is derived from wheat :D

In the medications that rule is different but Maltodextrin in the US with food is safe unless stated.

      Hello, I was very stick, with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel. Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change? What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?...

One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to...

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
