Hello Everyone!

I really appreciate all the comments and suggestions I have had here! I'm Kip, a 44 female and I was diagnoised with Celiac May 2010. I've had intestinal issues most my life and I have Raynauds. Lost muscle and weight and had no idea why. I started having severe abdominal pain the week before Thanksgiving 2009. Been in some type of pain everyday since. Yuck!

I am usually a very happy upbeat person with a big sense of humor. I have to admit, the celiac has taken some of that away for now. Just for now! :) I work with kindergarteners, and have two teens myself. They keep me going and make life interesting at times! My children are not happy with the thought they may have to go gluten free. In proccess of getting them tested.

Been through a lot so I am happy to know why I have so much pain. Yet, the doctor didn't give me much to go on or talk about CC.

I'm trying to find my way! The nurse at my Endo told me several places to shop in the next city over from me. My community has very little knowledge of Celiac JMO. Most people wonder if they can catch it from me or that I am being neurotic. The dietition was a big help with food etc. Thanks for your help here on other products!

It's helped so much read ther post knowing others have been through the same thing and have the same concerns.

I'm from NC as well

Hi Kip,

My name is Debi(goldfinger) I have not been diagnosed with celiacs but I put myself on a gluten free diet last week becuase of feeling bad, obesity, joint pain depression, which all could be related to my hypothyroidism; however I decided to try this to see if I felt any better.

Where in N.C r u?

Gluten intolerance stripped changed me from a happy, funny person to a miserable anxious depressed person. Since going gluten free and treating candida, I am now a happy, funny person again. Just talked with a friend today as how our lives are so much richer because we have humor in them.

I am so happy to have me back:)

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
