I Think I Might Have Been Glutened For The First Time

Ive been gluten free for a year and im sure ive accidently got a little here or there, but yesterday my sister made regular carrot cake with wheat flour and so i made brownies from the "cravings place" mix(anyone ever reacted?) but it was probably the fact that I made something right after my sister did, and it probably was contaminated because of it.

I got an immediate headache(Which i used to get daily when i ate gluten) but i didnt get a stomach ache(and a baaad one, like i used to get) until about 24 hours later. Is it normal for such a late reaction??

And im guessing the answer is no, but just incase, has anyone had a reaction to "the cravings place" mixes? probably not, they are made in a gluten/nut/dairy/wheat/egg/bean free facility!! im dairy free too.

I don't know anything about the product in question, but reaction times vary widely. Some of us react immediately, but delayed reactions are common. I take 12 to 24 hours to respond to gluten and then have about a week of visible symptoms.

Very interesting, @Idnam.  When I was experiencing this problem at its worse, I found high carb meals like lots of rice or too many cookies were a trigger.

Oh my, I have always had the symptoms for B12 deficiency, which is why I had the blood test that led to my celiac disease diagnosis I had been taking  B vits have been always been amazed that all ,my bloods were perfectly normal! I queried this many times with my doctor as to whether the B12 was active and being absorbed or whether it was just in my bloodstream. They dismissed this idea. And of course I still take them. Thank you so much, what a revelation and really quite understandable,  I am about due for my annual full blood test so maybe I will just stop taking them?

@SB04, Have you been checked for B12 deficiency?  A deficiency in Vitamin B12 will cause hives and also raise the tTg 3 IgG level, even in people without Celiac Disease.   You can have B12 deficiency without having Celiac Disease.   All eight B vitamins work together.  Do not supplement just a single B vitamin.   Best wishes.
