New Here, Another Biopsy On Friday

Hi all,

Got results from colonoscopy on Friday, appears that I scored 100+ on the Transglut AB IA test- says that tTG has been identified as the endomysial antigen. I have another biopsy on Friday (EGD?) in which the gastro hopes to confirm. Strange part is that my hemoglobin was normal which he didn't anticipate. We are working on getting pregnant with our second :P so I am a bit nervous as I read all of the information. I also am diagnosed Sjogren's syndrome 2007 so not new to the autoimmune gig, just slightly stressed about the whole life change before a whole different type of life change.

Did anyone else get this high of a result? Feedback appreciated!

These were my blood test results:

TTG IGA is >100

Reticulin AB: negative (not sure what this is)

Gliadin Panel:

IgG: is 131

IgA: >400

Endomysial AB

Endo Antibodies IgA: Positive, titer 1:320

my TTG IGA result is the same as yours- >100.

I just had my biopsy 8/31 and it was positive. I've been a tad anemic, but nothing off the charts. All my other blood work was normal too- like B12, Vit D, Calcium, etc.

Let us know how the biopsy goes.

      I cut out the rice because it was affecting my stomach at the time ... not necessarily dermatitis herpetiformis. It was Tilda Basmati Rice, sometimes wholegrain rice. I was willing to do whatever it took to heal. Too much fiber also disagrees with me as I have UC.

      But you didn't answer my question. When you consume gluten, is there an identifiable reaction within a short period of time, say a few hours?

      I am only wondering why you would need to cut out rice? I've never heard of rice being any issue in those with DH.

      My mother has celiac disease and was diagnosed with Afib around 8 months ago. She's 81 and around 2 months ago had ablation therapy done, which is a very common procedure to treat this, and has been out of Afib 95% of the time since then. Apparently the full effects of this treatment don't kick in for 90 days, so the doctors expect her recovery to possibly reach 100%. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor.
